This month begins with us assimilating the information the Halloween Full Moon in Taurus recently shared with us. This may be daunting since we’re currently in Scorpio Territory and a sense of the unknown prevails. When the Sun (our consciousness) is passing through this sign, ruled by Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, the atmosphere buzzes with undercurrents relating to taboo issues such as our instincts (including sex), death and rebirth. This rebirth is, hopefully, our process of transforming ourselves from one level of consciousness to a more evolved one and we’re being pushed to become more flexible in what we expect from our environment. During the past several years, we’ve been experiencing the Dark Lord’s agenda as he passes through earthy Capricorn, the sign associated with social and governmental institutions. What we’ve assumed to be solid, we now witness being reconfigured or destroyed and there’s uncertainty in what the future holds. This time, stressful as it is, is guiding us in determining what we value most in our lives. Harmony-loving Venus is in airy Libra and let’s make a point of using her example to seek out calming activities to soothe our jagged nerves, preparing for a wild ride!
MercuryRx (our consciousness), in Libra, is a focal point in this month’s drama as he begins the month clashing with authoritarian Saturn, in Capricorn, confusing interactions and undermining our focus. He then proceeds to become Stationary (prior to going Direct) on November 3rd and then seeks out Saturn for another round with Saturn on the 6th – what could possibly go wrong communications-wise?
November 9 relationship-oriented Venus and individualistic Mars, in fiery Aries, don’t see eye-to-eye and lead to interactions proving very testy. Meanwhile, the Sun and empathetic Neptune, in transcendent Pisces, combine their watery, natures and allow a relaxed inner space where we our intuition can surface. The 10th, Mercury, enters Scorpio to join the Sun and we become interested in delving more intimately in what interests us. More revelations can elicit strong emotions and let’s not get hooked by sensationalism.
November 12 expansive Jupiter and relentless Pluto embrace in Capricorn (they previously met 4/4 and 6/29) and this meeting’s energy expresses itself on a deep psychological level for us personally. Globally, it has great impact on a political and religious level so major developments may be in store. On the 13th, Mars, the God of War, finally turns Direct (after being Rx since 9/9) in his home sign of Aries and we feel like breathing a sigh of relief and urge to move forward (Saturn is still lurking in the picture, however). The 14, the Sun has happy interactions with both Pluto and Jupiter, further encouraging us to pursue what strikes our fancy leading up to the Scorpio New Moon (new beginnings).
The Sabian Symbol states “After having heard an inspired individual deliver his ‘sermon on the mount’ the crowds are returning home: The need to incorporate inspiring experiences and teachings to everyday living.” The trick is to live our lives navigating “the normal realities of existence… “ while being committed to evolving as conscious individuals. There’s a certain ruthlessness associated with our uprooting what’s hidden as we accept the great CHALLENGE TO TRANSFORMATION.
November 15 lovely Venus finds herself pitted against secretive Pluto and extravagant a Jupiter and, again, sensitive feelings predominate our interactions. It behooves us to avoid iffy situations, knowing we don’t see the entire picture. The 17th, this is even more the case when Trickster Mercury and brilliant Uranus, in earthy, practical Taurus, oppose each other and communications promise to be unpredictable and irritating. Calm returns the 18th when the Sun brings out Saturn’s supportive side and they re-establish a sense of equilibrium and a handle on our real life issues. Let’s let this carry over in our dealings, even as Venus and Saturn bait each other on the 19th. The 20th, she enters Scorpio and breathes a sigh of relief, now able to begin her own search for hidden relationship issues to be revealed. We’re helped to evolve when granted expanded self-awareness and ability to connect with others authentically. The Sun also enters fiery, forward-looking Sagittarius, raising our spirits and encouraging us to expand our worldview. Its symbol is The Archer, aiming his arrow to the firmament while its ruler is optimistic, Justice-minded Jupiter, also offering encouragement.
November 23 Mercury and NeptuneRx commingle their watery, imaginative energies (Scorpio, Pisces) and we do well to find time to tune into their creative message which invites us to access our inner voice and imagination. This prepares us, to be in an appreciative mind-set on Thanksgiving Day the 26th, however we find ourselves celebrating. The 28th, dreamy Neptune turns Direct and the sense of boundaries may blur. Let’s relax since making decisions is out of the picture.
November 30 the Full Moon (culmination) Eclipse (changes) in Gemini is a big deal. The Sagittarius Sun, opposing it, is all about universal awareness while the Moon (our unconscious) is about versatility of thought in the here and now, both involving our mental life. The Symbol states “A quiver filled with arrows. Man’s aggressive relationship to natural life, as a basis for survival and conquest. . .The mind of man is essentially a trans-piercing power. . .At a higher level – as in the Zen practice of archery – the obstacle is the ego.” Mercury and Jupiter are on hand and encourage us to use words in a healing way, contributing to the well-being of others and our own growth.
Happy Thanksgiving!
