Dowsing rods have been used to find water and precious minerals. These rods are primarily the Y shaped rods which used to be tree branches that were split. Another type of dowsing rods are the L shaped rods that can also be used as divination tools. My experience has been with the L shaped rods and so this article is about these types of rods. Some religions regard these tools as evil or superstitious. My feeling is that it depends on the intent of how they are used. If they are used only for the highest good, truth, wisdom, light and love, then there is no evil.

I found these rods to be another form of muscle testing in that it is a way for your subconscious mind to communicate with you. They are just like pendulums as they move in a certain direction. For me, the pendulums rotated clockwise for “Yes” and counterclockwise for “No”. To use the dowsing rods, you put them out in front of you by holding the short ends. Usually, there are handles are around the rods on the short ends so that the rods are independent of any control by your hands. That way they swing freely of you when you ask questions. It is also important to use dowsing rods made of material that resonate with you. Some are made of different metals like copper and brass. Some may have crystals at the end of the rod.

You can ask the rods to show you “Yes” and “No” answers. For me the rods crossed in front of me for “Yes” and for “No”, they swung out away from each other or just stayed parallel. It’s best to practice with questions that you already know the answers. As you become more confident, you can move to more advanced questions like which supplements and foods are good for you. My dowsing rods have been uncannily accurate as to how many readings that I’m going to do on a certain day. Then as your intuition escalates higher, you can ask if your spirit guides are present and then ask them questions. Of course, for people whose intuition is way more advanced, they don’t need these tools. But in the meantime, it’s a fun way to develop your intuition and communicate with your subconscious, your spirit guides, and the universe.
