A few years ago, I wrote an article on lifting your vibration, and one way to raise one’s vibration, was to express gratitude for all that you have. Recently, during an alternative healing session, I was told to list everything that I was grateful for. I didn’t list any material possessions, just all the wonderful people in my life that I am truly grateful for, starting with my immediate family, all my relatives, all my friends, and everyone who was praying for me, or helping me heal. I also thought of people who have impacted my life.
Then I thought of how many lists would I be on of people that were grateful for me being in their life. My family and friends came to mind but are there any others whom I’ve been a positive influence in their life. Have I impacted other people in a positive manner? Have I brought positive energy and joy to them? Am I someone who others want to be around and are glad to see me? Does someone say to me that I’ve made their day? How about sending healing energy instead of just receiving it?
My pastor gave a homily on St. Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians and the famous lines of “Love is Patient, Love is Kind”. He said that we should reverse it to “Patience is Love” and “Kindness is Love”, especially when we’re not in a good mood, and we still show patience and kindness to others, then that is love. But I would like to take it even further and have them feel grateful for us. I’m not saying that we have to go around like Pollyanna’s or be obnoxiously cheerful. A gentle smile or a sincere compliment will make someone feel good. Making a person laugh or smile will give healing energy to everyone including ourselves. I decided that while I may have not thought of it before, today is a good day to make a conscience effort to reverse gratitude. Now more than ever, our world needs this. Gratitude will raise our vibration, but being a reason for gratitude, will raise it even higher.
