The first article that I wrote, was about a psychic reading with my mom. I went to a second reading about a year later, and she came forth again. It was the same setting as the initial reading, which was in a spiritual healer’s house, and with the young psychic with her amazing gift. There was no cost, just something to share in a potluck dinner. She again communicated with the departed loved ones of the people that were in attendance. Again, mom’s personality came forth as she was the first one in line with the light in the angel case flashing on and off. Her message was that she was fine and that she was having a good time with my dad, and not to worry about her. What was interesting was that right after my mom, my niece also came forth. I haven’t been to any of readings in that setting since, because my family seems to dominate the time and there are many others who want to hear from their loved ones.
My niece died a few days before her 20th birthday in late September of 1981. She was struck by a drunk driver early in the morning when she was returning home from a college volleyball match in New Mexico. She was a beautiful young woman with blue eyes and golden blond hair in her sophomore year at Colorado School of Mines. Her drive for excellence made her successful in softball, basketball, and volleyball, as well as in the classroom. Yet all of her physical and mental attributes paled in comparison to her inner radiance. She was a warm person with a warm smile, and made anyone who came in contact with her, feel good. Her humor and positive energy were contagious. It was a devastating loss not only to all of her extended family, but to all who knew and loved her.
She appeared to the psychic to let me know that she was sorry that she had passed at such a young age, and that she wanted her mom to take better care of herself. My sister had been taking care of her husband for many years until his death, and my niece was concerned about the physical and emotional toll on her mother. I asked about my brother-in-law and she said that she was showing him how to adjust to the afterlife.
What I was able to glean from these readings was that our loved ones are there in our presence and can hear us. Our psychic abilities increase by raising our vibrations according to several spiritual teachers and authors. They also suggest that we speak out loud to our loved ones just like we would do with our spirit guides. If your psychic abilities aren’t developed, enough to hear them, you can use oracle cards and other methods like scrying and candle lighting. Focusing on their pictures will also help. Sometimes flickering lights will allow them to communicate to us. My sister has also mentioned numerous rainbows that she has seen not only in the sky, but also in her house. Then there’s synchronicity which I wrote about in my last article.
I recalled that a few days after my mom’s services, I was on my walk at the park, and was feeling depressed. Then I saw some cars enter the park with soap writing on the windows like “Happy Birthday Mom”. I surmised that some folks were having a birthday party in the park for their mother. The thing was, that on one of the cars, there was a note that said, “Love you, Mom”. What got me, was that there was a comma in the note. I thought that it shouldn’t be there, otherwise it looked like it was from their mom, instead of, to their mom. Then it dawned on me that the note was just like what my mother would sign on some of her cards to me. What are the odds of me seeing something like that right after my mom’s service? I felt much better after that.
My sister and I have been attending a mass for my mom each month in our hometown during the months where we don’t have to worry about snow. In September, the mass was for both my mom and my niece. In the middle of the service, the lights on the altar went out. This has never happened before, and it was just those lights. My wife was also there as we were in town for my 50th high school reunion. Both she and my sister commented that the lights going out, were just like the light at the readings.
In October, I was thinking of my niece on her birthday. There was a shiny copper penny on the floor of the entrance to the grocery store. I always pick up coins, because there’s a message from God on them which is, “In God We Trust”. Plus, I like the new shiny copper pennies. I save them and other new coins and then give them to the bell ringer collecting money for the Salvation Army at Christmas. I picked up the penny and was surprised to see the Lincoln Memorial on the back instead of the Union Shield which is on the backs of the newer pennies. Even though the penny looked like new, this meant that it had to be an older penny. So, I turned the penny over to see what the year was. It was 1961, which was the year that my niece was born. I’m keeping that penny.
So, until I am able to communicate directly, I will continue to work on my physic abilities, look for signs, and speak to my angels, spirit guides, and my incredible family members who are not visible.
