There is a section in the Shining Lotus Metaphysical Bookstore that has many different cards including Tarot and angel oracle cards. I took an in-depth Tarot class that was well worth it, but I wanted to write specifically about angel oracle cards for this article. There was a class offered in April for Angel Oracle Certification. This is so that you can become a professionally trained Angel Oracle Card reader, and be able to read Angel Cards not only yourself, but for others as well, and even charge for your readings. There are also classes offered online that will teach you how to do a reading and become certified.
However, I once heard a speaker at the bookstore say that the universe will tell you anything that you want to know. All you have to do is ask, and look for the answer in however you chose. Whether it’s runes, bones, Tarot Cards, or oracle cards, it depends on the psychic intuition of the reader. He proceeded to ask a sports question, and then randomly picked out a book and randomly turned to a page. He found his answer and predicted the outcome of a game. He turned out to be right.
I was drawn to the angel oracle cards in the bookstore mainly because of my Catholic education. When there were contests in elementary school, the prizes were holy cards of angels and saints, and I loved to collect them. It’s easy to get started with angel oracle card decks, because there is a description on each card and a guidebook is provided. It’s fun to ask a question and then draw a card to see what the answer is. Initially the guidebook is helpful to familiarize yourself with what each card is about. There are readings online in which three cards are drawn, one for the beginning, one for the middle, and the last for the end, of next week. Another popular reading is to pick cards for the past, present, and future.
As you do more readings, you’ll find that you no longer need the guidebook. Instead, it’s best if you go by your initial feeling when you see the card. Also examine the card for any more information or clues. Again use your feelings and not your thoughts, as thoughts bring in the rational mind, which gets in the way of your psychic abilities. Being centered and calm will give a more accurate reading. Meditating before a reading is one way to do this.
I’ve read and heard that these divination tools help will you develop your psychic abilities. In some of my classes, we have talked about how spirit guides can help you on your path. It’s important to determine who they are, and to be able to communicate with them. Because of my lineage, I have chosen saints and angels, and specifically, three archangels. I look to Archangel Michael (which is my middle name) for strength, courage, and protection, I look to Archangel Raphael for healing, and I look to Archangel Gabriel for guidance, direction, and creativity. It so happens that there are angel oracle cards in the bookstore for these archangels, a deck for guardian angels, and my favorite, a deck for saints and angels. So I figure that until I can communicate directly with all of my spirit guides, I can use the card decks to communicate with them. The readings that I’ve done for myself have usually been spot on, and Archangel Gabriel has been especially helpful to me in writing these articles.
