VISHNU’S SIX-POINTED STAR
by Bruce Johnson

Sri Vishnu Yantra for Peace, Happiness and Success.

The regular six-pointed star originated with ancient Hinduism and was variously known as the “Sign of Vishnu”, the “Signet of  Vishnu”, and the “Chakra of Vishnu” in Hindu scripture. The “Sign of Vishnu” is a powerful protection symbol that was used by the Hindus as a talisman against evil when placed on their homes or persons. Using the “Sign of Vishnu” for protection amulets and talismans eventually spread from India to Persia, Egypt and throughout the Middle East.

Also known as the “Star of Creation” and the “Star of Christ”, the “Chakra of Vishnu” contains a treasure trove of occult teachings in geometric form. This wisdom  includes the mysteries of – Life and Death, Emanation, Squaring the Circle, As Above so Below, Involution and Evolution, and the Philosophers Stone, among others. The “Chakra of Vishnu” corresponds to the spleen chakra, which like the six-pointed star, radiates six different streams of force from an invisible center point.

The “Signet of Vishnu” is based on a positive upward-pointing equilateral triangle. This upper triangle expresses- light, spirit, the solar principle, activity, evolution, fire, positivity, subjectivity, and the three primary colors of red, blue and yellow. The three points of the upper triangle compose the spiritual or true trinity. A solar trinity is represented in the Major Arcana by The Lovers card, although the position of the man and woman are reversed in this card if using the energy-based triangle.

The Sudarshana Chakra

The reflection of the up-ward-pointing triangle in the six-pointed star is the down-ward pointing triangle called the lower triangle, or reflected triangle. These two triangles are interlaced together balanced on a common center to make a six-pointed star. This inverted triangle attunes to- darkness, matter, the lunar principle, passivity, involution, water, negativity, objectivity and form, as well as the three secondary rays – green, orange, and violet. The lower triangle represents the reflected trinity of materialism and maya. This lower trinity is depicted in The Tarot as The Devil card, albeit the figures on the card are not inverted, and like The Lovers card, the position of the man and woman are reversed.

Viewing one type of six-pointed star, the uppermost point or apex is point one, positive, and red. The upper point on the left-hand side of the star is point two, negative, and violet. The lower point on the left-hand side is the third point, positive, and is colored blue. The lowest point at the bottom of the figure is number six, negative, and green. The upper point on the right-hand side is point four, negative, and orange in color. The lower point on the right-hand side is point five, positive, and yellow. Points one, three and five form the positive triangle, points two, four and six produce the negative triangle.

The six points of the six-pointed star represent the six directions in space as well as six types of energy blended and fused into one. Six is the number of concrete manifestation. The elements Argon, Neon, Xenon and Krypton form in the pattern of a six-pointed star. The mystical central point of the six-pointed star signifies the number seven, and is unseen and implied, being the central source of spirit/matter that composes both triangles of the “Chakra of Vishnu”. The indigo ray has an affinity with the central point of the above-mentioned star.

OLLIE THE OWL
by Bob Romero

Ollie the Owl

In late April, I went for a craniosacral therapy session in which my therapist also uses energy work for healing. After the session, she said that a bird showed up and she thought maybe that it might be a raven. On that very same day when I returned to the house after getting the mail, a baby Great Horned Owl was on my front porch. I called Birds of Prey to see what I should do. They said that the mother owl would come by that night, and the baby would fly off with her. That’s exactly what happened, and I was left with a big mess to clean up. It returned to leave me another mess and so we started leaving the outside lights on in front and back. Then on Mother’s Day, as my grandchildren and I were going to the backyard to play, the same owl was by our air conditioner on the side of the house. We saw and heard the owl and its mother several times over the next few weeks including seeing it on the back fence and on the roof of the house opposite our backyard and moving its head up and down as it hooted. My wife named it “Ollie the Owl”.

There was great excitement with our neighbors and anyone else when we told them about Ollie and its mother. Some friends suggested that it showed up because it’s close to the area in our house where I chant and meditate. Others suggested that it was a good omen. So, I researched the occurrence of seeing an owl during the day and found one source that states “The owl represents knowledge, while the day represents the dawn of a new day. As a result, if you encounter an owl in the daytime, it tells us that you’re on the path to enlightenment. You’ll hear some good news that will change your life. An owl in the daytime is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity”. Another source said that the owl served as protection on my spiritual transformation.

I apparently need that as we’re studying spiritual transformation in my metaphysics class, Melanie Beckler has constantly talked about spiritual transformation and oneness in her videos, and our pastor’s homilies on the Ascension of Jesus and Pentecost have been about helping each other and listening to each other. He said that we ascend by helping each other up and not by putting other people down. When the Holy Spirit appeared to the apostles, and people thought that they were talking in their languages, he said that the people finally started listening to the apostles and each other. When the Tower of Babel was built as a tower to heaven, people stopped listening to each other, which then seemed to them that they developed different languages. There are many different Christian denominations who are all trying to build towers to heaven, but don’t listen to each other. He said that when we listen to each other, including people from all faiths, God comes down from heaven.

When I left after my acupuncture appointment, I found a $50 bill on the sidewalk, and so I wondered what Spirit would want me to do with it. Usually, I would use it for a treat for myself, my wife, or my grandchildren. But this time I thought about using it for something that would help other people. I had wanted to do something for the church in one of its outreach ministries. I had thought about the food bank, but I wanted to do something special. So, I got food that was low in sodium, low in sugar, gluten-free or whole grain wheat, organic, and no preservatives, antibiotics, or hormones. I had just found a new doctor who was certified in functional medicine which uses nutrition and supplements before using medication. By eating healthier, I lost 15 pounds and the aches and pains in my joints went away. The people who use the food bank don’t have many choices. The food must be non-perishable, and so I carefully checked the ingredients to meet my criteria for things like canned vegetables, soup, cereal, tuna, crackers, seeds, and nuts. So, after filling a double paper sack, I stapled a sheet of paper on the bag that stated:

Good Food for Good People

  • Low Sodium (if lightly salted, then sea salt or himilayan pink salt)
  • Low Sugar
  • Organic
  • No preservatives, hormones, or antibiotics
  • Whole Grain or Gluten-Free

I put “Good People” because they are good people who need a helping hand, and I wanted them to feel good about themselves. I hope that food donated by the grocery stores also includes fresh organic vegetables, eggs, meat, and dairy. By doing this, I hope that the food banks will get the idea, as well as their contributors, that foods and drinks that don’t meet these criteria cause inflammation, heart disease, and diabetes.

At my last craniosacral therapy session, the therapist said that what came up, was oneness. This means that my spiritual transformation is happening. It’s hard to achieve oneness when dealing with people of different political views. I noticed that the country grew very divided in the mid-nineties when talk radio and cable news became prevalent. They are considered entertainment and use outlandish claims to drive up ratings which then increase sponsorship and revenue. When relatives or friends from the other side would send me articles jabbing my side, I would research the issues and debunk their views. Now my response is “Aren’t you tired of the hate?” instead of putting them down.  As I go through my spiritual transformation, I know that one of my spirit guides is “Ollie the Wise Young Owl” who is protecting me and others who saw this magnificent bird as we go through our spiritual transformation.

JULY 2022 ASTROLOGY UPDATE
by Roy Neal

Old Historic Astrologer

We begin the month of July with the birthday of our country on Monday, July 4th. Early on Tuesday, July 5th in the Mountain Time Zone Mars will enter Taurus and Mercury will enter Cancer. Taurus and Cancer are both signs that represent emotional and financial security. It would seem to be easier to celebrate your independence when you feel emotionally and financially secure.

The First Quarter Phase Moon occurs in Libra on Wednesday, July 6th. Keeping the peace between family members may require cultivating skill in diplomacy.

A Full Moon occurs in Capricorn on Wednesday, July 13th. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and often depicts a need to respect authority and other people’s boundaries. Self-discipline and a desire to be productive can assist us in getting a lot accomplished.

Venus enters Cancer on Sunday, July 17th. Emotional issues related to family members will be in focus for the rest of July and the first two weeks of August.

Mercury enters Leo and Chiron goes retrograde in Aries on Tuesday morning, July 19th. People that are irritated and have something to say will feel compelled to spontaneously express themselves.

A Last Quarter Phase Moon in Aries on Wednesday morning, July 20th could bring situations and emotions to a fiery peak. Things should calm down by Noon, however, as the Moon enters the sign of Taurus.

The Sun enters the sign of Leo on Friday, July 22nd. Our ability to articulate our feelings will likely improve as the Moon enters Gemini late on Friday and forms favorable aspects to the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter all day on Saturday, July 23rd.

Positive aspects between the Moon, Chiron and Saturn on Sunday, July 24th should make for an enjoyable weekend experience.

Working through emotional issues with family and loved ones is likely to continue while Venus remains in the sign of Cancer. A New Moon in Leo on Thursday, July 28th signals a time to lighten up and have some fun.  Jupiter goes retrograde in Aries also on July 28th. We are advised to keep our sense of humor and learn how to be lovingly assertive. A focus on activities that invite creative self-expression and play are recommended.

IN HONOR OF CANCER, THE CRAB
by Roy Neal

June 21 through July 20

Cancer the Crab

The Sun enters the sign of Cancer on Tuesday, June 21st. This event marks the beginning of the Summer season and is known as the Summer Solstice. Cancer is a water sign ruled by the Moon. The Moon represents our emotional nature and our connection with our mother. In your birth chart the sign the Moon is in symbolizes the way you express your feelings. Early emotional conditioning in childhood is often depicted by the Moon’s position by sign and house. Aspects to the Moon by other planets in our birth chart can indicate the challenges and opportunities we will experience in our journey towards emotional maturity.

The Cancer person is very concerned with home, family and emotional security. Understanding what they need emotionally and what nourishes their self as well as others is a primary concern for the heart-centered Cancer individual.

If you are looking for a caring and sensitive person who will nurture you and your children, you would do well to cultivate a relationship with someone who has the Sun or other personal planets in the sign of Cancer.

Roy Neal is an Aquarius with his ruling planet in the sign of Gemini. If you would like more insight about this zodiac sign call Roy at 720-962-4633.
