ATTRACTION AND REPULSION
by Bruce Johnson

Attraction qualities include those of balanced light, accretion, cohesiveness, integration, affinity, in-gathering, attracting that of a like nature and sympathy. Attraction is a centripetal building force that attunes to the blue ray of love/wisdom. The characteristics of repulsion oppose and are negative to those of attraction. Repulsion involves disintegration, dissimilarity, dispersal, division, disconnection, disassociation and antipathy. Repulsion demonstrates as a scattering centrifugal force reflecting the yellow ray of intelligence.
Attraction and repulsion together constitute one of the three fundamental Laws of Nature called the Law of Attraction. This universal law is also called the Law of Attraction and Repulsion, and the Law of Magnetic Attraction. The Law of Attraction underlies the ability to love wisely, the attraction of opposites to each other, the formation of groups and their interrelations, and aggregation of all kinds. Among the effects of the Law of Attraction are – bringing together individuals with important associations, building spiritual and physical forms for the expression of life, and the harmonizing of those forms to the evolving lives they contain.
The greater Laws of Nature possess aspects of themselves called lesser laws. The Law of Attraction and Repulsion encompasses various subsidiary laws, one of which is the Law of Gravitation. Traditional science recognizes only a portion of the law with what it calls gravitation, or attraction. Occult Science knows attraction and repulsion to be the dual properties of one force, both being necessary to account for the formation of a solar system, explain planetary motion, and clarifying why a comet’s tail points away from the sun.

Esoteric Science teaches that the magnetisms and electricities circulating throughout a solar system are the causes of the attractions and repulsions taking place inside that solar system. In addition, energies and forces are matter in its higher states. Magnetism is an invisible, substantial, super-sensuous substance. The magnetism that flows from the poles of a magnet is a real force, and demonstrates both principles of attraction and repulsion. The Law of Magnetism, like the Law of Gravitation and the Law of Chemical Affinity, are lesser laws or portions, of the Law of Attraction.
Atoms, humans, planets and suns are examples of microcosmic and macrocosmic magnets that participate in the attraction and repulsion that takes place throughout the spiritual and physical planes of life. A writer named Bhagavan Das authored an insightful book called The Science of the Emotions linking attraction and repulsion to human emotions. The following is a condensed partial sketch of the material contained in the book.
Everything manifest can be categorized into the Self, the not-Self, and the interaction between the two. Additionally, feeling or emotion can be divided into two types- attraction emotions and repulsion emotions. Attraction emotions are the pleasurable emotions that produce love and attraction. Attraction is the source of all love-emotions. Repulsion emotions consist of the painful emotions that produce hate and repulsion. Repulsion is the source of all hate-emotions.
The three primary love-emotions are reverence, affection and benevolence, all of which can be expressed at different levels of intensity like the hate-emotions can. The three basic hate-emotions are fear, anger and hostile pridefulness. All human emotions are represented by one or more of these six emotion-elements. The emotional response of the Self varies according to whether the not-Self is superior, equal or inferior to the Self.

CRYSTALS
by Bob Romero

Our granddaughter likes to collect “pretty” rocks. So, I showed her some of the crystals that I had bought at the Shining Lotus. These were crystals that had drawn my attention in years past because of their beauty and their meaning, and they were very inexpensive. She thought that they were really cool, and so I bought some for her and our grandson. I had not gotten around to learning on how to use crystals and so I wasn’t sure which ones to get. I wrote an article on Indigo Gabbro and how I used it for meditation, but it was because it was suggested by Melanie Beckler on her website. I knew that Amethyst was a very popular and very powerful crystal for healing that is often used with the Violet Flame Meditation. There are so many beautiful crystals at the store that hardly cost anything. I had bought a book there which described which chakras, planets, numbers, elements, and astrology signs are associated with each, as well as their spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical uses and the Divine guidance. I also found many websites that have a lot of information and I signed up for a newsletter by Liz Oakes on “Healing Crystals for You”. As I did more research on these stones, I was amazed at all of the metaphysical powers and healing that all of the stones have. New ones are added often like the beautiful Polychrome Jasper known as “The Supreme Nurturer” as they are beneficial healing crystals to nurture and heal the physical body.
When I bought the crystals for our grandchildren, I asked which ones would be appropriate for children, and I was given expert advise on which ones to select. I was very fortunate, and I am grateful that there is so much knowledge at the bookstore on crystals in addition to other metaphysical topics. They can also tell you how to cleanse and charge the crystals. A simple way is to put them out on the grass or the earth during a full moon. You have to be careful though because water can dissolve crystals like Selenite. So, you can put those crystals on the windowpane.

The most obvious choice was the Rose Quartz Crystal which is also known as the “Love Stone” because it helps with all forms of love from romantic and other relationships to spiritual love for all and promotes “Oneness”. There’s that word again, which has been the theme for my recent articles. It’s the unconditional love that Jesus, Buddha, and other ascended masters brought to us. The Rose Quartz also helps with physical and emotional healing. I remembered to cleanse and recharge my crystals during a full moon and one of them happened to be a Rose Quartz. After learning about all of the power and healing that a Rose Quartz has, I slipped one into my pocket. The next day I played in a golf tournament in my seniors’ golf league. When I parked my car and was carrying my golf clubs up to the club house, I started hearing “Hi Bob” everywhere I went. Some even called out to me to say hello. Now most of the members are very nice and friendly, but I had never experienced anything like this before. I felt like the most popular guy in high school. Then I went to driving range to warm up before playing. Some of the courses have complimentary range balls to hit, but then I found out that I would have to go back to the clubhouse and pay for a small bucket. Then I heard, “Hey Bob, you can have half of mine”. I turned around to find out that it was a very nice member who has become a friend of mine, who had made the offer. I offered to pay him for them, but he would not take my money.
I was a little apprehensive when I joined our foursome as I was playing not only with the president of the league, but with Pat, who was our A golfer. The two best scores from our foursome would be used for the team score. I had played with Pat before and observed that he had quite a temper when he didn’t do well. He also talked a lot about his game and had very distinct opinions. Pat is tall and a very good golfer when he doesn’t let his temper get the best of him. I avoided any political conversations with him as he was a former marine sergeant and police officer, and I didn’t want to spark his ire. I complimented him when he had a good shot and told him that we had him covered when he didn’t, as we only needed two scores. We were all complimentary of each other, and I could feel the positive energy and comradery build as we cheered each other on. I had one of my best days ever, but everyone was well under their handicap or their usual score. Later when the results were posted on the website, our team had come in second out of twenty-nine teams. As I was loading my clubs into my car in the parking lot, Pat drove his golf cart over to me, stuck out his hand and said, “I just wanted to let you know that it was a real pleasure playing golf with you”. I told him that it was real pleasure playing with him as well, and it really was. The second-place finish was nice, but most important, I’ll remember that day for the oneness that we shared and that I had experienced. I discovered that oneness is the key to building relationships with others who may have different views and opinions. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to slip a fully charged Rose Quartz Crystal into your pocket.

AUGUST 2022 ASTROLOGY UPDATE
by Roy Neal

We begin the month of August with Lammas; the celebration of the harvest. Due to an agreement between Russia and Ukraine on July 22nd we now have hope that much needed grain will begin to be exported to help feed the world. I guess it’s true what they say about Leo; it really does rule the heart.
A positive aspect between Venus in Cancer and Mars in Taurus on Tuesday, August 2nd would suggest tangible efforts to help maintain the health and well-being of our personal and collective human family. Mercury enters the sign of Virgo on Thursday, August 4th. Plans and strategies to improve the quality of our daily life are favored.
A First Quarter Phase Moon occurs in Scorpio on Friday, August 5th. This Lunar activation indicates an ideal time to weed the garden of our psyche. The question to ask ourselves is what do we need to let go of that no longer serves our highest good.

Venus enters the sign of Leo and a Full Moon occurs in Aquarius on Thursday, August 11th. The urge to express ourselves creatively in unique and unexpected ways is in high focus. Jupiter continues its retrograde transit in Aries until the end of October. Opportunities to reclaim previous or forgotten aspects of our self may prove energizing and enjoyable.
A Last Quarter Phase Moon occurs in Taurus on Thursday, August 18th. Activities of an economic and practical nature will likely require our attention and commitment. Mars enters the sign of Gemini on Saturday, August 20th. A multitude of activities will require our skill in clearly communicating our desires and intentions to others.
The Sun enters the sign of Virgo on Monday, August 22nd. Our focus will be on our health, work and service until the Sun enters Libra on Thursday, September 22nd. Uranus goes retrograde in Taurus on Wednesday, August 24th. Innovative approaches to manifesting our financial security will need to be explored and implemented.
Mercury enters the sign of Libra on Thursday, August 25th. Personal decisions that involve our relationships with others will need to be evaluated for fairness and mutual benefit.
A New Moon in Virgo on Saturday, August 27th brings the focus once again on our work, health and service and the practical ways these areas of our life can be improved.

IN HONOR OF LEO, THE LION
by Roy Neal
July 22 through August 21

The Sun enters the zodiac sign of Leo on Friday, July 22nd. Leo is a fire sign ruled by the Sun. The body part ruled by Leo is the heart. The desire for the Leo person is to be loved, admired, and appreciated. They are romantic and playful with a love of children and the inner child within themselves and others.
The Leo person is often creative and dramatic; they invite us out to play and express our heart’s desire. The goal of the Leo person is to learn how to be self-confident, courageous and true to their authentic self.
The challenge for Leo is to learn how to love themselves rather than constantly seeking love and validation from others.
When the Leo is happy their joy is contagious; they inspire the joy, playfulness and creative self-expression in everyone they meet.
Roy Neal is an Aquarius with his ruling planet in the sign of Gemini. If you would like more insight about this zodiac sign call Roy at 720-962-4633.
