This Sunday, March 2 is Losar, the Tibetan New Year, and according to the Tibetan lunar calendar, the first day of the Wood Horse Year 2141.
Losar is a time to focus on new beginnings and great achievements. As Tibetans around the world gather together with family and friends to mark this major occasion, we may reflect on the suffering and sacrifice of the Tibetan people inside Tibet. We also celebrate the incredible strength and enduring spirit of the Tibetan people.
May the Wood Horse Year, like the Tibetan lungta ‘wind-horse’, swiftly carry our prayers for the wellbeing of all living beings on its back and deliver change and peace in Tibet.
