We begin the New Year with the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn and Saturn and Jupiter both in Aquarius. This experience is like a tug of war between Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn and Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius. Capricorn is considered to be cautious and conservative while Aquarius is innovative and unconventional. Add in the impatience of Mars in Aries and you see an environment that is ripe for confrontation and potential conflict. There could be a few unexpected casualties before the smoke completely clears.
On Wednesday, January 6th a Last Quarter Phase Moon in Libra invites the opposing parties to the negotiation table for a potentially peaceful resolution. Mars enters Taurus in the afternoon and supports agreements that are mutually profitable. On Friday, January 8th, Mercury enters the sign of Aquarius and favors objectivity and new perspectives. Later that same morning Venus enters the sign of Capricorn and supports relationships based on mutual investment and partnership.
A New Moon in Capricorn occurs on Tuesday, January 12 further supporting the beginning of new business ventures.
On Thursday, January 14, Uranus goes direct in Taurus and signals the green light to proceed with new projects that maximize the use of innovation and technology.
The Sun enters Aquarius on Tuesday, January 19th. On Wednesday, January 20th the First Quarter Phase Moon occurs in the sign of Taurus. A conjunction between Mars and Uranus on the same day suggests actions that are unconventional and revolutionary.
A Full Moon occurs in Leo on Thursday, January 28th. The urge for creative self expression is amplified and is demonstrated in unusual ways.
Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Aquarius on Saturday, January 30th and will not return to direct motion until Saturday, February 20th. The climate of decision-making and mental awareness is likely to vacillate between inventive and erratic. Clarity will return when Mercury completely exits the retrograde shadow by March 13th.
