DIWALI – Festival Of Lights (Hindu)

The festival of lights Diwali this year is celebrated today, the 5th of November 2010. This is the most celebrated Hindu festival in India and all over the world. Diwali falls on the new moon night and has a twin worship of Goddess Laxmi for wealth and prosperity and the celebration of return of Lord Rama from a 14 year exile.

Basically Diwali is a way of expressing your joy and gratitude for the many little things God, and people around you have done for you. Although symbolically we light lamps it is utmost important to light the lamp of love and joy in at least one heart. If we do that this Diwali, it would certainly be a memorable one for years to come.
