The Merkabah

When I wrote the article on Metatron’s Cube, I came across another symbol in Sacred Geometry called the Merkaba. It is a star shaped symbol which is a combination of two tetrahedrons, one pointing up and the other pointing down, intersecting at the midway points of each of the triangle faces. It’s an eight-pointed star that looks like the Star of David in 3D. It has Jewish and Egyptian roots and is found in nature. It means Chariot in Hebrew and in ancient Egyptian, the word is a combination of three words, Mer which means Light, Ka which means Spirit, and Ba which means Body. The tetrahedron pointing up represents masculine energy or the cosmos, and the one pointing down represents feminine energy or the earth. The tetrahedrons spin in opposite directions and thus create a perfect balance. So, it is a vehicle or chariot of light that can help us with healing and become better people.

Merkabas can be available in crystalline form or as metal outlines of the figure and can also be worn as jewelry. I found two Merkabas at the Shining Lotus Metaphysical Bookstore. One was a selenite crystal, and the other was an amethyst pendulum.

As I mentioned, the Merkaba can help with healing, and it can also help with intuition and spiritual enlightenment. We may not be aware of an invisible Merkaba that is a three-dimensional energy field that is around every person. You can activate the Merkaba with a special meditation that uses prana breathing in 17 steps plus one for your higher self. Now here is the remarkable part of the article and my experience with the Merkaba. I went to a holistic healer that does craniosacral therapy, polarity therapy, and Reiki. She will sometimes work on my vagus nerve or balance my energy. Usually after the treatment, she will tell me where there might have been some energy blockages and what guides that she worked with. This last time, she said that there was a Star of David above my head, but in 3D. “Oh”, I said, “you mean the Merkaba”. She did not know what it was and then I showed her some pictures. The fact that she didn’t know what it was, but that she was able to describe it exactly, was fascinating to me. That showed me that the Merkaba is indeed around every person and this Sacred Geometry symbol is available to all of us on our spiritual path.
