Occultism teaches that a sun is a trinity, and that each sun is a macrocosmic expression of a microcosmic atom. A microcosmic atom is spheroidal in form and contains at its core a nucleus of life, as do all suns. A microcosmic atom contains three major spirals and seven lesser spirals within itself. This is paralleled in the three primary aspects of a sun being expressed through its seven rays. The three fundamental principles of any sun are- the central spiritual sun, the “heart of the sun”, and the physical sun. Each of these three principles correlates to one of the three astrological fire signs.

These three basic aspects of a sun form a triangle with the central spiritual sun at the peak, the “heart of the sun” in the left-hand corner, and the physical sun in the right-hand corner of an upward- pointing triangle. The central spiritual sun is the true sun, and the invisible source of life, light, and heat to a solar system. The central spiritual sun is blue in color and expresses spirit, life, will, unity, and electrical energies. A central spiritual sun focuses its life- giving rays through the lens of its reflection, the visible physical sun. The central spiritual sun corresponds to the fire of Aries.

The” heart of the sun” is that core of spiritual fire at the center of a sun. The “heart of the sun” is the balance point between the central spiritual sun, and the tangible material sun. This aspect of the triple sun radiates the dual ray of love/wisdom, and corresponds to the human heart, which is the center of life for humans. The light from the “heart of the sun” radiates golden rays, consciousness, love, and electro-magnetic energies. The “heart of the sun” is also that part of the sun from which the seven color rays emanate. These seven rays demonstrate the seven-fold expression of the sun in addition to its basic triple nature. A “heart of the sun” describes the fire of the sign Leo.

The physical sun, which is a combination of etheric and dense physical matter, is a reflection or instrument of the central spiritual sun, and draws its power from it. Our physical sun is a giant magnet that acts as an enormous reservoir and distributer of electrical, magnetic, and pranic vitality for our solar system. The three streams of energy radiated by a sun are the cause of all life manifesting in solar systems throughout the galaxies. The visible sun is the physical body of the spiritual sun in the same way that our dense material bodies on earth are vehicles for our immaterial souls. A physical sun focuses and materializes the light rays and energies emanating from its corresponding central spiritual sun. The physical sun symbolizes tangible matter and form, while it radiates vital pranic life force. Physical suns conform to the color red and the fire of Sagittarius.

There are many mysteries linked with our sun, the “eye of Osiris”, including those connected with its three primary aspects. These three aspects relate respectively to the mystery of electric fire, the mystery of electromagnetism, and the mystery of pranic vitality. Esoterically, our solar system like all solar systems is the physical body of a stupendous spiritual entity called a Solar Logos.
