THE BREATH
by Bob Romero

We too often take the air we breathe for granted even though it is the one thing that we need most to live. In addition to keeping our physical body alive, the breath is also important for our mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. When we’re overly excited, the first thing that we’re told to do is to take a deep breath and calm down. In yoga we concentrate on our breath when we begin our practice and use it with each pose. We start off by focusing on the breath for meditation whether it be guided, mindful or empty mind.

There are many breathing techniques that help us heal and be centered and grounded. Some simple ones are the 4-7-8 breathing, box breathing, and alternate nostril breathing. The 4-7-8 method is to breathe in for four seconds, hold it for seven seconds, and then release it for eight seconds. Then repeat that sequence for 7-10 times. The box breathing is to inhale for four seconds, hold it for four seconds, breathe out for four seconds, and wait four seconds before inhaling again and starting a new cycle. Repeat that for also for 7-10 cycles. The alternate nostril breathing is a yoga practice that uses the thumb and ring finger on your right hand. You start by closing your right nostril with your thumb and inhaling through your left nostril. Then close your left nostril with your ring finger and open your right nostril by moving your thumb off and breathing out your right nostril. Then inhale through your right nostril and then close it with your thumb and then open your left nostril by moving your ring finger off and breathing out your left nostril. That is one cycle. Do six more cycles for a total of seven. If you have not done any breathing exercises before, you will be surprised about much calmer and better you feel.

Sadhguru

Sadhguru, a famous yogi, says that everything happens on a cellular level and so by giving thanks for the food that we eat and water that we drink, we are charging the food and liquid molecules with positive energy, and it rejuvenates the cells. I say that we take it a step farther and once in a while, give thanks for the air that we breathe so that it charges all of the air molecules with positive energy coming into your body. You can visualize all of the positive energy flowing throughout your whole body, and filling up not just your physical body, but your aura as well. This will make you feel good, and you’ll start to notice good things happening around you. When I see the haze over the city or along the foothills, it troubles me what about what’s in store for the future for the air that we breathe. It’s plain to see that profits on air polluting energy have come before clean air. This breath that we’ve been given by Spirit started when God breathed life into Adam. We must cherish it, respect it, and give thanks for it, as the air that we breathe is a Divine resource that we need for all facets of our lives.

FEBRUARY 2023 ASTROLOGY UPDATE
by Roy Neal

Old Historic Astrologer

We begin the month of February with all planets in direct motion. It is time to take action. We have the green light to go forward with our plans, dreams and goals.

A Full Moon occurs in the sign of Leo on Sunday, February 5th. We are encouraged to express ourselves creatively and share our true feelings with friends, family and loved ones.

Mercury enters Aquarius on Saturday, February 11th. This event signals a time of “awakened consciousness.” New ideas and insights can stimulate a period of enlightened awareness. You may want to keep a journal of your extraordinary thoughts and ideas. Scheduling a brainstorming session with other progressive thinkers could prove stimulating and potentially rewarding on many levels.

A Last Quarter Phase Moon occurs in Scorpio on Monday, February 13th.  Two things come to mind. This is a time of emotional healing and release and some of the ideas you so generously and spontaneously shared with others in your group brainstorming session should be kept private if you or your partners of choice wish to financially profit from them.

The Sun enters the zodiac sign of Pisces on Saturday, February 18th.  Pisces is a water sign and encourages us to go with the flow and exercise compassion in our relationships with others.

A New Moon occurs in Pisces on Monday, February 20th. This would be a good time to begin a spiritual practice and do things that support the health of our physical body. Meditation, diet and prayer can reduce stress and help us cope with daily challenges. Plenty of rest and sleep are also recommended.

Venus enters the sign of Aries also on Monday, February 20th. Aries is a sign of action. It may be time to be lovingly assertive with others. Healthy relationships require both parties to honor themselves as well as each other. Mutual love and respect is essential.

A First Quarter Phase Moon occurs in Gemini on Monday, February 27th. Gemini represents ideas and communication. We benefit by sharing our ideas and learning how to authentically communicate with others. Writing and journaling can provide us a positive emotional outlet for our thoughts and feelings.

ENERGIES, FORCES & AURAS
by Bruce Johnson

An occult Law states that “There is naught but energy, for God is Life.” This primary energy of Deity can be differentiated into energies, forces and color rays, which together constitute the sum total of all that is in existence. The universal One Life, or Ain-Soph is the basis for every type of manifested life form. This teaching is demonstrated in the Tarot with the Fool, symbolizing En-Soph, emanating the 21 cards or forces of the Major Arcana.

Forces are energies that are confined or imprisoned within some kind of form, whether a body, organ, chakra or plane. The three groups of forces correspond to the three points of a triangle. Positive force is the force that energizes something. Negative force is that which is the recipient of the impacting energy. Negative force assumes form under the impact of positive force. Blending the positive and negative aspects of force together creates a dual third force called Radiant Energy or Light Force. Forces are denser and less potent than energies and are always anchored or imprisoned within a form. The universe contains 49 variations of force.

Energies are streams of directed power which impacts and influences the confined forces within any body or form. Energies which contact the grosser vibratory rate of the anchored forces within any form can originate from a greater more inclusive form, or from a less dense plane of being. An energy is always more subtle and stronger than the imprisoned force it contacts and modifies. There are seven basic energies present in all human beings. These seven energies take the form of the seven primary color rays, all of which are diverse configurations of manifesting energy.

Aura

All manifested life whether microcosmic or macrocosmic, lives within an aura. An aura describes an oval of spheroid of radiation and influence surrounding a particular form. The vibrations of the chakras create the aura of a person, which is composed of the collective emanations from all of their seven bodies. The seven human bodies are the Soul, Spiritual, Intuitive, Mental, Emotional, Astral and Physical bodies, beginning with the most rarified body, the Soul body. An aura responds to all impressions that affect it, whether subjectively or objectively received.

A person’s spiritual development is determined by – 1, the amount of light in the aura, 2, whether the chakras above or below the diaphragm are more active, 3, the level of chakra development, 4, whether the Soul or Personality is in control. The unfoldment of virtues and virtuous behavior has a very forceful effect on the awakening of one’s chakric centers. Right Living, High-Minded Thinking, and Loving Action powerfully lift and purify the vibration of the chakras and ultimately one’s aura. The average person responds far more to Personality energy than to the energy radiations of the Soul.

All manifestations from the Four Kingdoms of Nature are-
1, responsive to forces generated by other forms
2, responsive to the seven color rays emanated by the seven Sacred Planets,
and 3, responsive to the life-giving solar ray from our sun.
The effect of an energy or force impact is dependent on the quality and nature of the form or body being influenced. Human auras are usually strongest around the head and shoulders due to the presence of numerous major and minor chakras.

AQUARIUS, THE WATER BEARER in 2023
by Roy Neal

Aquarius, The Water Bearer

January 20 to February 20

The Sun enters the zodiac sign of Aquarius on Friday, January 20th. Aquarius is an air sign ruled by the planet Uranus. Uranus is often called “The Awakener.” Before Uranus was discovered in 1781 the sign Aquarius was ruled by Saturn. Saturn represents the boundary between the physical reality and the spiritual experience of higher consciousness.

Aquarians are unique, independent and enjoy doing things that shake up and challenge the status quo. Innovative and original are words that describe the Aquarian personality. The Aquarius person is intelligent and intuitive. Their world is idealistic and conceptual. They make good inventors, astrologers and facilitators of social change.

The key phrase for Aquarius is “I Know.” Aquarians are good conversationalists and usually have an opinion about almost everything. If you are looking for intellectual stimulation and a unique way of perceiving reality and the future of the world and humanity, then you would do well to develop a friendship and rapport with someone who has their Sun, Ascendant or other personal planets in the sign of Aquarius.
