Pernicious forces are those forces that by their nature enable evil and oppose the good. Upon examination, these harmful and destructive energies are seen to be rooted in individual and collective ignorance, selfishness, and enmity. On the world level, the wrong use of power manifests through hateful persons; noxious assemblages; discordant organizations; dubious philosophies and belief systems; unjust laws; greedy power-hungry leaders; all forms of corrupt government; and through subtle mental, emotional, and physical negativity directed by the shadow brotherhood.

To defeat wickedness it’s useful to know how the forces of discord operate through their unwholesome instruments, some of whom can be intelligent, articulate, and friendly- appearing. These repulsive methods involve- blocking human progress and evolution; keeping the masses in poverty and slavery by destroying basic freedoms; undermining unity between groups of people by promoting fear, hated, racism, and class distinctions; spreading lies and disinformation to confuse and mislead whenever possible; controlling the world’s resources and its physical wealth at the expense of those exploited; and retaining cruel selfish leaders who are aligned with their malignant purposes.

Resisting wretchedness both large and small is important as it contributes greatly to human independence and liberation. Passivity and indifference to internal and external malicious forces leads to falling into illusion and the repetition of negative karmic patterns. The wrongful use of might can be counteracted by supporting groups and individuals that accent and empower the principles of love, goodwill, truth, justice, and reality, as well as living those qualities personally. It’s clear when examining the life of Jesus that he opposed evil from birth to death despite the offensive interpolation in the Bible that instructs otherwise.

Some modes of rebuking evil are- shun and boycott those that voice spurious hurtful statements and beliefs; reprove error by speaking out, which includes writing letters or articles about subjects that need addressing; exercise our inherent right to vote; contact our Congressional representatives about our position on important issues; defend our Constitution and Bill of Rights from the injurious forces that would attack and erode them; participate in peaceful marches for good causes; generate all types of light and positive power to manifest God’s Divine Plan for humanity; as well as demonstrate an attunement to the work and mission of our Souls.

The Buddha taught that ignorance is the core cause of all personalized suffering. Vile forces working through the lower selves of some malevolent humans take advantage of this non-awareness at every turn. The defeat of nefarious energy necessarily involves the replacing of inaccurate or untruthful information with correct and factual teachings on all manner of topics, not the least of these being religious beliefs. As humanity advances into the coming age of greater spiritual enlightenment, religious doctrines will synthesize into a more universal interpretation.
