Meditation Lake

I’ve written about guided mediation and about prayer in these articles. Guided meditation is guided visualization by someone else. Prayer is talking to God. There is also Transcendental Meditation which is repeating a mantra over and over for a period of time like about 20 minutes. The mantra is given by a qualified TM teacher. All these practices are great and have many health benefits, and they all raise your vibration and brighten your radiance.

Simple meditation is the absence of thought and the presence of stillness. Setting aside a few minutes every day for meditation will also produce many great benefits that are physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, including the expansion of your intuition. Same say that it is difficult to simply meditate because it is hard to remove all thoughts. They try hard to focus on not letting any thoughts creep in their minds and become more frustrated the harder they focus. Sadhguru said that if we find it difficult to meditate, think of yourself as a microorganism on a little dirt ball in the vast universe. Then everything else will appear to be very insignificant.

However, it should be effortless. If any thoughts appear, recognize them and let them go. Thoughts that generate anger and regret mean that we’re thinking about the past. Thoughts that give us anxiety and worry have us contemplating about the future. Mark Twain once said “I’ve suffered a great many catastrophes in my life. Most of them never happened.” We need to be in the present moment.  When we’re in the present moment, it is easier be calm and find inner peace. The feeling of inner peace is what all of mankind strives to achieve. It feels so good that we want to come back to it again and again. And the more we do it, the easier it will be to have inner peace, and we can use that feeling to help ground us when difficult situations arise.

When we’re ready to meditate, it may help to listen to healing meditation music or by chanting “Om” for a few minutes. That will help us relax and get us to where we can let go of all that is going on, and just be. Then we can surrender totally to God and listen to what Spirit has to say to us as we meditate.

Old Historic Astrologer

We begin the month of September with Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all retrograde. Retrograde refers to a period of deep internal process and transformation. The analogy here is something like two steps forward one step back. Situations and circumstances beyond our control are requiring patience and process before moving forward in a tangible way.

The Sun being in Virgo for the first 21 days of the month suggests that we will need to consciously focus on issues of health, work and service.

Mercury in the sign of Libra during this month reminds us that we are likely to need help from others in order to experience success in our work and relationships.

A New Moon in Virgo on Monday, September 6, indicates a new beginning in how we approach our work-related goals. Prioritizing investments and activities based on cost effectiveness and profitability will be essential.

Venus enters Scorpio on Friday, September 10. The need to evaluate our relationships carefully to determine a fair exchange of value is at hand.

A First Quarter Phase Moon occurs in Sagittarius on Monday, September 13. Our emotional need for inspiration and a new vision of what is possible will guide our motivations and actions as Mars enters the sign of Libra on Tuesday, September 14. Skill in negotiating agreements with others will produce mutual benefit and goodwill.

A Full Moon occurs in Pisces on Monday evening, September 20. Finding ways of helping others in practical ways will facilitate emotional healing and well-being.

The Sun enters Libra on Wednesday, September 22. The spotlight of consciousness is now focused on relationships. Our success in all endeavors will either be enhanced or challenged depending on the quality of our way of relating with others.

Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Libra on Sunday evening, September 26. A time of inner reflection is favored. Major life decisions should not be made until Mercury goes direct on October 18.

A Last Quarter Phase Moon in the sign of Cancer occurs on Tuesday, September 28. A certain amount of tension and stress may occur in our relationships with family members at this time. The opportunity to stay emotionally centered and calm will require restraint and self-discipline.

Goddess Luna

Arcane knowledge concerning the dual nature of the moon, with its bright positive side, and dark negative side was taught to ancient Mystery School Initiates. The moon was known to express a twofold influence as it reflected a creative life-giving solar force, but also radiated a destructive death-dealing lunar force. One of the secrets of Initiation was to learn to separate these completely opposite forces, responding to and using only the positive lunar forces while blocking the destructive ones. Hindu priests drank their sacred magical soma-drink to put themselves in direct rapport with the bright side of the moon, gaining great inspiration and knowledge there from.

One of the moon’s or Luna’s little-known aspects is that she’s a storehouse of concentrated higher intellectual energy and positive solar forces. Accessing these extremely beneficial energies as well as contact with higher spiritual beings is most readily achieved around the time of the full moon every month. The critical portion of the lunar cycle lasts for five days, two days on either side of the full moon day. The ancients used the time of the full moon to participate in divine invocation, Initiations, inspiration and prophecy, healing, and a completion to that which was begun at a previous new moon. As a general rule, when possible try to start important new cycles around the new moon, so they build power with the waxing moon.

The occultist recognizes that all full moons of the year are opportunities for positive spiritual contact with the forces of light. Of the twelve or sometimes thirteen full moons in a year, the full moon of May is the most recognized by spiritual seekers. May is the month of Taurus and the Wesak Festival in the Himalayas where the Buddha acts as an instrument of light, healing and wisdom to humanity. In the future, the full moons of April and June will gain more importance as major full moons in addition to the May full moon. These three full moons combined symbolize the trinity of the three primary ray forces.

Like countless other dead bodies in space, our moon is a decaying shell with no pranic life remaining in its disintegrating physical body. Earth’s moon is an ancient planet’s corpse with only the inherent life contained in matter now existing within it. The moon’s decomposing physical and etheric bodies, together with its negatively energized astral body, radiate a very pernicious influence on all they contact, including human beings. During the full moon, the Earth, Luna, and their astral duplicates [bodies], receive more reflected solar light- energy than at any other time. People who are imbalanced, emotionally and astrally polarized, or frequently irrationally impulsive and desirous, can become astrally over stimulated and psychically upset during the time of the full moon. Negative over stimulation combined with imbalanced astral sensitivity is the cause of many lunar-related psychoses, hallucinations and insanities.

Full moons are particularly beneficial for balanced spiritually-minded people who are also mentally oriented. They are auspicious times for group contact with great advanced souls, as well as for positive invocation, healing, spiritual revelation, and heart unfoldment in groups around the world. Spiritual initiations of all grades take place during the light half of the lunar cycle, often at the full moon. Additionally, humanity is more able to contact the angel kingdom during the full moon.

August 22 to September 22

The Sun enters the zodiac sign of Virgo on Sunday, August 22nd. Virgo is an earth sign ruled by the planet Mercury. The key phrase for Virgo is: “I Analyze”. The astrological house attributed to Virgo is the sixth house of work, health and service. Recent events have challenged us to be more mindful of these areas of our life experience.

It is the time of the harvest; we are reaping what we have sown. Creative problem solving opportunities are abundant. The health and well-being of ourselves and our environment demands our attention.

The opposite sign of Virgo is Pisces. Pisces is ruled by Neptune. Neptune is a planet that symbolizes our connection with spiritual guidance and intuition. In order for us to be emotionally healthy and productive we need to find the balance between the spiritual and physical experience of our everyday reality. By daily connecting with our spiritual guidance we will be able to take the action necessary to support the health and well-being of ourselves and our environment.

If you have the Sun, Moon, Ascendant or personal planets in the sign of Virgo you will likely have the desire to be of service and facilitate the well-being of others.
