Synchronicity

There is a term in some of the metaphysical books that I’ve read, called “Synchronicity” which means “meaningful coincidences of two more events.” According to online definitions like Oxford and Wikipedia, the reason the events are meaningful coincidences is because they are related to each other, but yet the odds of them happening together, are extremely small. Analytical psychologist Carl Jung first came up with the term, synchronicity, to describe this phenomenon. He had discussions with Albert Einstein and Wolfgang Pauli to see if synchronicity could be explained by relativity theory and quantum mechanics. Divine intervention can also be another reason. Spiritual authors and teachers say that there are no such things as coincidences. Maybe God is using quantum physics to cause synchronicity. They also seem to happen more often when you meditate or stay centered.
I started thinking of events that have happened to me in the past, that could be considered synchronicity. One example is when I made travel reservations to attend a conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, and I wanted a direct flight. For some strange reason, the travel agent said that a direct flight would cost $1,500 but using a connecting flight through Chicago Midway would only be $500. So, I agreed to take the cheaper flight and save the company some money. The next day, a colleague friend of mine asked the same agent for a direct flight, and she booked it for him for $600. I immediately called the travel agent to do the same for me. She said that it would cost $700 to make the change. I was furious, but I went along the original travel arrangements. I flew out on Sunday and was not able to attend mass before I left and would get to Indianapolis way too late for any services there. I like to attend mass not for the obligation, but because it makes me feel good. After I arrived at Chicago Midway airport, I headed toward my connecting gate when I saw a sign at a nearby gate that said, “Catholic Mass at this gate on Sundays at 5 p.m.” I was somewhat surprised at seeing this, as I had never come across anything like it before, in my business travels. I thought to myself “Too bad I won’t be able to attend because that’s when my flight leaves.”
Then I heard an announcement over the PA system that my flight was delayed by an hour. “What a coincidence,” I thought, and I was able to attend mass which lasted only a half an hour. I had a good feeling not only for the rest of the trip, but throughout the entire conference. Then on the way back, I’m sitting with my friend at the Indianapolis airport who was teasing me that he will arrive in Denver long before I will. But I was still feeling good about the flight out, and then I heard my name announced over the loudspeaker to go up to the counter. When I went there, the flight representative said that my flight to Chicago was overbooked and asked me if I could take the direct flight to Denver. For doing this, they would also give me a $300 travel voucher. I said “Let me get this straight. You’re putting me on the direct flight to Denver so that I get home sooner, and you’re giving me $300?” They replied that that was indeed the case, and so I responded, “I think that I can do that.” When I went back to sit next to my friend, I told him “Ha ha, not only am I on the same flight as you, but I also got a $300 travel voucher.” He just shook his head.
Another example was when I was grocery shopping at King Soopers on a Saturday morning before class. I had to go in the morning because of a conflict in the afternoon. I thought that I had allowed plenty of time, but the store was very crowded. So, I moved along quickly so that I would not be late for class. Then there was an elderly woman taking her sweet time, picking some mushrooms. She saw that I was in a rush, and she asked me if I needed to get some mushrooms. “Oh no”, I replied, “You were there first, and don’t rush because of me.” After she finished, I got what I needed, and moved on. I made good time, and it looked like I would have more than enough time, but the checkout lines were long. As I was looking for a short line, a new line opened just where I was at. A cashier had brought a customer in, that was standing in another line.That was great though, because now there was only one customer ahead of me, compared to all of the other lines. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was. However, when the cashier totaled the bill for me which came to $130, the screen went blank and her system had crashed.
“Oh no,” I thought to myself, “Now I’ll have to go to another line and have all of my groceries re-scanned!” The cashier told me to wait as she went to talk to her manager. She came back and said “Enjoy!” I looked at her dumbfounded and said “What?” She said that I could go and did not need to pay. I think that I floated from there to my car in the parking lot. There are many more examples that I have thought of, that are similar, but there is not enough space in the newsletter to write about all of them. I do think that it is good to journal them or begin to journal them to see how many times these wonders happen. And if things don’t work out, maybe it’s a test to see you can stay centered and overcome any obstacles. Some people believe in Murphy’s Law, and they get what they believe in.
I would like to close with a tiny little example. We were asked in class by our teacher, to think back to our childhood and remember the first feelings of joy that we had. What I remembered first, was seeing pretty Christmas lights that were the dark translucent colors of red, green, and blue. He suggested to find similar lights and put them on my altar. I have always liked these clear dark colors. They are so rich and pure that I just enjoy gazing into them. I also remembered the marble collection that I had, when I was little, where some marbles were solid or opaque, some that were called “cat eyes”, and others, that my friends and I labeled “clearies.” My favorite were the clearies because they were the clear dark colors that I really enjoyed looking at. So, I went to the bookstore and described to the owner of what I was trying to do. He thought about it and said that he had these inexpensive candle holders that were transparent dark colors. I looked at them and said, “They’re perfect!” They were beautiful and exactly what I wanted. I bought four of them, which were dark blue, dark red, dark green, and dark purple. He said that they had arrived the night before. We looked at each other, smiled, and we both said “Synchronicity!” And I thought “Hmm, also the topic of my next article.”

We know that the true meaning of Life lies first in being happy, for only now can we pursue a greater Path…after all, I have never seen a grumpy Guru, have you ?
As a Spiritual Teacher I am well aware that Dark Forces – call them evil or even demonic energies if you like – are very active at the moment … all we have to do is look at the news and see how much violence, how much anger, how much abuse is rampant throughout the world…
And we – our nation that was founded on spiritual principle, our nation that is first among all others, we who are the leaders in so many areas… we are as contaminated as the rest … But just maybe – maybe – there is still a bright Light that lives within our hearts… maybe …
There was a news article that was recently shared about an elderly woman and her dogs that ended up living out of her car… because her rent had escalated to the point where she could no longer afford it… and as she diligently looked for other accommodation, found that many apartments no longer take pets…
So, here she was, sitting outside her car, with her most basic belongings [and her loving pets] trying to figure out what to do … oh yes, that most important question – what to do now …
She wasn’t begging, she wasn’t throwing a pity-fit, she was not bemoaning and complaining…no, she was just sitting … thinking …
And what happened next is why I can still hope for our people … Two women, just out shopping, saw her sitting there…and without any hesitation approached her – simply out of concern, out of basic human concern for her well being… and asked: “Are you Okay ?”
Such a simple question…
And received just as simple an answer : “Yes, I’m Okay” [Really, sitting in a parking lot with your possessions and your dogs in the middle of our most wonderfully cold weather…this is being Ok ?!? … but I digress]
Well, these two total strangers decided that such a simple answer just wouldn’t do… and so they started asking around…went to a neighborhood website… and discovered her whole life-story …
And as any good Samaritan would do, decided to bring people together – all of them total strangers – to find a better solution … Many hands make light work … and sure enough, people found her a furnished studio apartment … [oh, but there’s more] … and paid her rent in full for the next two years … !!!
Yes, there is a Light that still shines in people’s hearts …
And now, me being who I am, I started thinking – where these generous people Democrats or Republicans … maybe they were Buddhists … or perhaps they were socialists / hippies / wealthy independents … or maybe they forgot to look at these ‘labels of discontent’ and just remembered that we are all simple humans, and as such we – all – deserve to be treated humanely…
Yes, they found the Light within themselves … and it was enough to clear away the foolishness of separatism and conflict that IS the mark of Dark Forces … and the manipulation by evil …
So, I now ask you to take the time to remember the true Light that you are, to forget about opposing ideologies, refuse to be swallowed up by conflict and separatism… and remember that God [Spirit-Creator / the One Being] created us all … with no favoritism …
And now the choice is yours … do with it whatever you will … but remember, no matter what your spiritual beliefs are – there IS a reckoning after this mortal life is over… so enjoy whatever you create …

Planets And Possibilities – A Look At The Astrology Of December

As the month begins, the Sun (our consciousness) shines in fiery, expansive Sagittarius and we may feel buoyed by its rays. Let’s embrace this warmth even as Jupiter, King of the Gods, Sag’s ruler, moves into earthy Capricorn on the 2nd. This development has a subduing influence upon us since the sign of the Goat is all about our practicing practicality and restraint. During this time of mixed signals accompanying tremendous change, this guides us away from embracing the lure of sensationalism which can lead us down a rabbit hole. He’s joining Venus, Goddess of Love, Beauty and Money, whose own focus is now on stability in relating to others, in lieu of tempting interludes without a future. As we go along with this moderating influence in our daily lives, we’re acclimating ourselves to adjust to the impact of the conjoining of the Sun, Mercury, The Trickster, Saturn, Father Time, Jupiter, and Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, in Capricorn (social structures and Institutions) in early January. This historically momentous event has global implications and, for us, the opportunity to put to good use our ability to center and maintain inner equilibrium as sparks fly around us. Are we finding time to nurture ourselves through stillness? In the meantime, the 3rd lovely Venus and vital Mars, in intense Scorpio, create a warm atmosphere, assisting us in attracting fulfilling personal and business interactions. The 4th the Sun and transformational Pluto combine their power to assist us in adopting a self-improvement regimen, benefiting ourself and others. Our integrity and conviction are tapped.
December 8 the Sun and misty Neptune in otherworldly, watery Neptune, throw up a smoke-screen around a situation and our idealistic objectives. Let’s relax and daydream as Venus decides to join Neptune and contribute her relationship-oriented sensibility to the mix. Are we able to let go and take advantage of this interlude? The 9th Mercury (our thought processes) enters Sagittarius and Scorpio’s depth-oriented world view is replaced by optimism which opens up our communication with others. We just need to temper our enthusiasm with tact.
December 11, friendly Venus and responsible Saturn connect and share their concerns regarding building a strong relationship due to their different natures. As we, ourselves, resolve to find common ground between our own and others value systems, the December 11/12 Full Moon in airy, mental Gemini (opposite the Sag Sun), motivates us to consider the volume of possibilities to which we are exposed. The Sabian Symbol states “The modern cafeteria displays an abundance of food, products of various regions: The assimilation of multifarious knowledge through the synthesizing power of the mind.” We are now at the close of a cultural cycle and benefit from this abundance and avoid confusion by employing discrimination. “The keynote here is indeed ASSIMILATION; the negative potentiality of the symbol is WASTE.” Sagittarius yearns to expand through a wider living space while Capricorn’s influence calls to moderate our behavior. We’re being asked to find the value in each viewpoint and let our discrimination guide our course.
December 13 energetic Mars and mystical Neptune, swimming in watery Scorpio and Pisces, fuel us with their enthusiasm to get serious about our spiritual practice, dance or what ever action opens up with our inner self. Venus conjoins Pluto and their emotional intensity fires within us a desire to relate to another in a transformative way. The only issue here is that Pluto and obsession are closely connected and we don’t want to go there. The 15th lively Jupiter, now in earthy Capricorn, can have a cordial get-together with unpredictable Uranus in tenacious Taurus, also an earth sign, to cook up original and out-of-the-box ideas, helping us consider a new opportunity in our lives. The 19th Mars and Saturn offer us the incentive to make productive and efficient inroads with our plan. However, by evening, communicative Mercury and nebulous Neptune lead us down a path leading to escapism and confusion but, we can resist their siren song. This is true especially since Venus enters airy, detached Aquarius, and personal independence plays a prominent role in our thoughts, even as we are drawn to a humanitarian cause.
December 21 is Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, when the Sun enters Capricorn and the Return of the Light is celebrated around the world. (Capricorn is the sign most concerned with establishing structures which serve social wellbeing which entails ambitious behavior.) We may be preoccupied by holiday concerns, but on the 22nd Venus (now in Aquarius, ruled by Uranus) and Uranus (in intractable Taurus) clash and we may encounter a strain of rebelliousness, jarring in social circumstances and any hope of intimacy. Things improve as Mars and Pluto (in Scorpio and Capricorn, respectively) are actually cooperating and stimulating our willpower and ambition to understand complex issues and where people are coming from. The 24th, Christmas Eve, the Sun and Uranus assist us in expressing ourselves authentically as our perspective expands, preparing us for the transformative nature of the New Moon (new beginnings) Solar Eclipse in Capricorn.
This New Moon the 25/26th is heavily aspected by Jupiter and suggests that we be extremely thoughtful in planting seeds we hope to sow. The Symbol states “Indians on the warpath. While some men row a well-filled canoe, others in it perform a war dance: The mobilization of physical and emotional energies in a spirit of conquest.” This message addresses the current global situation with many a call to arms being issued, challenging the integrity of sitting governments. Which ever side of the struggle a leader may be on, it’s suggested “that AGGRESSIVENESS may be a necessary ingredient in the activation of the potential growth in inherent in any social group.” Our need is to remain grounded as these struggles, local, national or global, play themselves out, by growing in our own self-awareness and coming to terms with our own shadow.
December 27 the Sun and Jupiter embrace and their blessings pour over us even as Mercury joins them in Capricorn. Here he’s guiding us to get organized and reflect on how we’re progressing with our strategies for dealing with the changes and opportunities 2020 holds in store. The 31st, New Year’s Eve, the Moon (our unconscious) is in intuitive, psychic Pisces, aspecting Pluto, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto. All signs point to our being asked to become open to the present and what the Cosmos has to share with us. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Anthropoid Apes Evolved From Lemurian Ancestors

Occult science teaches that Charles Darwin was completely mistaken in tracing the origin of mankind to the ape or some type of Pithecoid “missing link” ape-man. The physical and genetic similarity between man and apes the Darwinists are so quick to mention can be readily understood by a review of the ancient records. The startling truth is that humanity existed for millions of years before anthropoids, and that primeval, mindless, Lemurian man mated with now extinct she-animals and produced a race of fertile, dumb, red-haired monsters that walked on all four legs. Modern apes evolved from these ancient human/animal monsters. These acts are known in the Ageless Wisdom as the “sin of the mindless” and show that apes evolved from man, not the reverse.
Esoteric Science holds to the fact that spiritual and physical involution and evolution is Natural Law, and is eternal and ongoing. Creationism in the Bible hides a profound evolutionary allegory from the profane, and in its literal form is a false teaching. Cyclic reincarnation is the method by which evolution of all the kingdoms in nature is accomplished. The goal of this spiritual evolution, for individuals and groups, is the attainment of inclusive awareness and cognizance on all seven planes of life. All physical forms and the consciousness that animates them are moving slowly toward perfection. Anthropoids are an exception to the normal evolutionary process, and were not intended by nature. They are a product of early “senseless man” and his unlawful union with female animals. Nevertheless, modern apes are also evolving, and in the distant future will incarnate as primitive humans.
The “sin of the mindless” that began in Lemuria was tragically repeated with the fourth race Atlanteans, who were more intelligent than primitive Lemurians, and therefore fully responsible for their sinful acts. There were Atlanteans who mated with these red-haired monsters and created a race of fertile animal/humans that are the progenitors of today’s anthropoid apes. The Lemurian monsters were huge in size and existed in a semi-solid astral form. Man of that time was also gigantic, semi-solid, and much more animal-like than humans of today. The red-haired brutes of Lemuria, like its humans, had decreased in size in their Atlantean lifetimes. An Atlantean twenty six feet tall was not unusual. Atlantean apes were more human-like, intelligent and larger than their current degenerated offspring.
The question could be voiced-If Atlantean apes were more human-like and advanced than modern anthropoids, what happened to the evolution of their race? The answer can be found in the records of the later Atlanteans. The more advanced Atlanteans, upon realizing the transgression of their less-evolved brethren, declared war on these apes and determined to exterminate them. Only the least-progressed apes were allowed to live. The great majority of Atlantean red-faced and blue-faced apes were totally eliminated. Some of the more advanced apes died out from natural causes. Modern anthropoids have evolved from the least- developed Atlantean apes, as all others were killed or died naturally.
To the esoteric student who’s familiar with the existence of man/animal hybrids in earth’s history, it’s not a great leap to consider the possibility of Sasquatch and the Yeti. The idea that they are a small almost extinct offshoot branch of the Atlantean animal/humans is worth the consideration of the skeptic.

2020 is a 4 year, bringing along the energy of responsibility and a more conscientious approach in sharp contrast to the last year 2019 (3) which focused on unstoppable creativity. The 4 year will also be creative but more organized and conventional, putting us on a more solid foundation. Hard work and accomplishment are hallmarks of the energy of 4.
The 4th card of the Tarot is the Emperor, the ‘father’ archetype. The ‘father’ is perceived as harsh, strict, and very disciplined and systematic in his approach. We may have a more no-nonsense approach to our experiences in the coming year because of the new 4 energy.
The number 4 is associated with the sign of the crab, Cancer in the western zodiac. Cancerians have external strength that serves to protect their soft interiors which are often wracked with worry about work and other material matters. The hard shell on the outside serves them well.
In the I Ching, the 4th kua is ‘uncultivated youth’. Confucius says in the commentary, “To abide where danger lurks is youthful folly… It is our sacred duty to correct the folly of youth through education.” The other hexagrams related with the number 4 are The Lovers (13), Attraction (31) and Release From Danger (40). Their focus is material and earthly concerns. Like the Emperor protecting his kingdom, the energy of 4 is all about material wealth, power and prestige.
