PLANETS AND POSSIBILITIES: A LOOK AT THE ASTROLOGY OF MAY

The Sun is in Taurus ( grounded consciousness) and it is time to celebrate May, even if we no longer dance around a MayPole or create beautiful baskets! Taurus is ruled by Venus in all her natural beauty and by honoring Mother Nature we are bathed in her loving energy. Being outdoors really will benefit us and our mental outlooks.
May 2, Venus herself enters Aries (action) which may add a charge to our interactions since she also rules Libra (relationship) but we shouldn’t get too carried away. Retrograde planets tend to cause us to focus inwardly to address unfinished business. Because of the ongoing “Change Boot Camp” we are living through, we have a lot of material to ponder.
Three planets are in play here. The aggressive but retrograde Mars is in the partnership building sign of Libra until May 19, stressing that we need to delve deeper into interpersonal dynamics. Boundary building Saturn in the intense sign of Scorpio is insisting we revisit our inner realm to uncover wounds in order for them to heal. Transformational Pluto finding its foundations in Capricorn is pushing us to confront fears from our past which hold back our growth. These processes are designed to help us grow in Self-Knowledge which is the key to greater consciousness.
That said, we are in luck with the Full Moon in Scorpio May 14 whose Sabian Symbol is “Crowds coming down the mountain to listen to one man“. The implication is that these people are seeking fulfillment in their quest to grow spiritually through contact with an advanced one. Whatever our own spiritual path or lineage may be, we too must explore and investigate teachings and methods to satisfy our questions, concerns and frustrations.

We must remember that we are not isolated on this journey and there are resources available if we are alert to what’s going on around us. Also, as the I Ching states; Perseverance Furthers. Are we already committed to a discipline? Are there like-minded individuals we can share our concerns with?

May 20, the Sun (your consciousness) joins Mercury (your mind) in communicative Gemini where Merc has been hanging out since May 7. These two lively entities bring a welcome airiness to our affairs. Let’s actively focus on levity and fun activities whether they involve ice cream, outdoor cafes, hiking or visiting friends. Doesn’t it feel like we need resuscitating after a long winter?
Our psyches being revitalized will help us walk our way through the challenge of the May 28 New Moon which is symbolized by a possible confrontation. “Aroused strikers surround a factory” indicates a disagreement which will be dealt with one of many ways. With clear thinking and a resistance to the allure of drama, the odds of negotiation are great.
This may be a situation which has to go in to long-term mediation where eventually a sense of satisfaction may be achieved by all involved. This is a metaphor for what we confront within ourselves when faced with aspects of ourselves we don’t like. With patience and compassion for ourselves we too can work toward integration.

This includes 3 stones, Sunstone, Moonstone, and Labrodorite (aka Spectrolite). All three stones are good to bring 3 different energies into one unifying force, to create a 4th energy. These stones are powerful to work with, so if you have any of these stones, please bring them with you! Plus, don’t forget, that if you have any stones that you can’t identify, then bring them too, and I will help you name your stones!

A NOTE TO THE FEMALE CYCLE

My knowledge of the female chemistry is very limited but I do know she goes through a very large and intense chemical change every month. I am most distressed that my male world has yet to acknowledge her monthly cycle with more respect and a little more gentle understanding.
The female body goes through such a complex chemistry of internal change and pressure that I can’t even imagine what that must feel like. Does it feel as if your internal organs are being squeezed and twisted? Does it feel like you are being turned inside out sometimes? I don’t believe my male body could survive such anguish, and yet because all women endure this blessing of a monthly life and death cycle, we men look away and make distasteful jokes.
I would ask that we men give her natural cycle some serious thought, space and patience. I would also ask the women of the world to not hide this beautiful and tender time from us men. We need to know and understand what has been unspoken for too many years—this elegant, but perhaps confusing flow of nature. How can we men be supportive to you when we don’t accept or understand your discomfort?
From the beginning of recorded history women have been told to be ashamed or to be dismissed from social engagement or to apologize if she shows the least degree of emotional variation. Women and men have both used several degrading slurs to describe the period. Let’s reverse and banish this image and use a little more sophistication. Women of the world, please let us men know when you are going through your fragile time, let us know how we can support and praise your experience. This may be the time when we cook your dinners and have you relax. Put your feet up and be pampered—no excuses. You deserve it and you need it. You need to be given the accepted honor for the complex cycle that provides life for all future generations.
It will take time for us men to recognize more clearly what happens inside your bodies and it will take time for women to see more clearly that we men wish to understand you better and love you more deeply. It will take a little more time before a man does more as a woman does less while she is accepting this rest to lighten her thoughts and her body. Let’s come out of the dark ages and celebrate together this gift of life. All of life has its cycles and all of life is to be shared.

WHY ARE YOU STILL STRUGGLING?

I am always amazed at how many wonderful people are still struggling with Life… still battling to be successful, be happy, be loved…
It’s too easy to say “It’s Karma… in some way they deserve it… it’s a test – to see how they cope with it.” Really…?!? That’s just so much b*-sh#t!
Consider this – yes, Karma does exist; and yes, it is a “lesson” to be learned… but remember, these are wonderful people!
No, I’m not being a bigot, nor prejudiced – it’s simple knowledge of Energy and Vibrational Rates – if the person embodies a more Animalistic Consciousness, if they are driven by their Lower Nature, if their Energies are lower/contaminated, then yes, all they’re going through IS Karma, and the lesson they have yet to learn… equally, if the person is kind, loving, nurturing, then their Energies are more refined, purer, higher… now this is NOT Karma.
Then what’s going on…?
It’s quite simple – these ‘wonderful’ people have taken upon their shoulders someone else’s Karma, someone else’s burden… (as their Service to Spirit). Why would they do this…? Because they truly are nice people (and this is their way to help all others progress and evolve.)

Heck no, it isn’t!
At some point it is ‘enabling’, and actually prevents the other from learning his own lesson.
And how do we know when this is happening? When the ‘nice, wonderful’ people are collapsing under this burden… when it has started to feed off their Life Force, when they are caught in this stinky mess and are unable to find their way out… So, it’s time to wake up, all you ‘good people’, and consider the First Rule of Life; “Life is for living, joyfully, lovingly, happily… fully!”
So, it’s time to LET GO and recharge your batteries…(or are you just so programmed to be a ‘beast-of-burden’…?)
This month is dedicated to Energies – their movements, limitations, restrictions and fallacies…and how to release them and fully reclaim yourself…(so, take a deep breath, and figure out what to do with yourself…oh, what to do…what to do…?)

ADAM AND EVE, AND REINCARNATION

Adam and Eve did not die after eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil as the Lord God prophesied they would. Instead, they were clothed in “garments of skin”, became thistle farmers, and begat the human race. Let’s examine this allegory of the human spirit falling into matter, or reincarnation.
Adam/Eve is the soul as formless spirit, naked or free of clothing or limitations on its own plane of life. The soul’s expression on planes lower than its own requires” garments”, or matter of those planes. Each plane of life would require a garment or sheath through which the soul can function. Clothes, vehicles, bodies, sheaths, or containers, are synonymous with” garments of skin”. Occult Science teaches us that we have seven of these bodies or sheaths.
Reincarnation is one of two cornerstones, along with karma, of Esoteric Science. Reincarnation is the cyclical process whereby the spiritual divinity of an individual is unfolded and eventually expressed in physical form. Physical, moral, and spiritual perfection is the goal of this “cycle of necessity” that all humans participate in. Successive rebirths are needed, as one lifetime is not enough to accomplish the objective of metempsychosis, an ancient term for reincarnation.
The most intelligent minds of the Hindus, Buddhists, Egyptians, Greeks, Chaldeans, Hebrews, Gnostics, Persians, and Essenes, have all taught the truth of reincarnation. The Hindu belief in transmigration, or the soul alternating between human and animal forms during incarnations, is a false teaching. The Ancient Wisdom contradicts this belief, showing that the soul moves progressively forward in its evolution, not retrograding back into lower life forms. To the reincarnation adherent, vicarious atonement has no basis in fact, as karma requires all souls to pay the price for their own salvation, or enlightenment.
The Buddha taught that the cause of repeated reincarnation was ignorance of the senses, wrong desire, and attachment to objects. Soul attunement and it’s resulting spiritual growth, frees us from the dreary cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.
The book- Reincarnation, by E.D. Walker, is an excellent book that examines the cyclical return of souls into physical incarnation.
