THE MYSTERIOUS SIDE OF BOTANY

The ancients knew many secrets about plants and vegetation that have yet to be discovered by modern science. The mystical properties and medicinal uses of plants were taught by the great alchemist and pioneer physician Paracelsus. His study of plant magnetism can lead us to knowledge about the yet unrevealed therapeutic value of many plants. The presence of magnetism in plants is the basis for the sympathy or antipathy they show to other plants and humans. Plants demonstrate affinity or attraction to some magnetic fields, and antipathy or repulsion to other ones. The individuals said to have a” green thumb” are people with a strong attunement to nature’s flora. Whether potatoes, roses, or bonsai trees, love and rapport with the plant is the common denominator of the successful horticulturist.

Luther Burbank communicated with plants in his pioneering studies, and participated in experiments requiring   mutual cooperation between him and the plants. Experiments by Father Kircher in the 17th century, showed the existence of subtle magnetic attraction and repulsion between different plants. In a series of tests involving many different plants, a certain vine showed a resistance to a cabbage, and a marked attraction for an olive tree. A ranunculus showed a type of affinity for the water-lily, and antipathy toward the fig.

Sympathetic or non- sympathetic magnetic fields can be seen to be the source of this affinity or opposition between plants. Some plants demonstrate magnetic attraction by their responses to the sun and moon. The acacia and Egyptian lotus open their petals at the sun’s rising and close them at sunset. The nightshade reacts similarly to the rising and setting of the moon, even in fog. Here we see an interaction between the lesser magnetic fields of the plants and the greater magnetic fields of the planets.

Ancient astrology linked through magnetic affinity, different plants and herbs to the astrological signs. In past times and today, a skilled physician/ medical astrologer with esoteric knowledge of the plant kingdom, like Paracelsus, could create beneficial teas and potions custom-made for the unique astrological magnetism of any individual. One special contribution the Plant Kingdom brings to Earth, is to modify and transmit vital pranic force to other forms of life on our planet, including human life.

The Denver Botanic Gardens, located at 1007 York Street in Denver, is a great place to see many beautiful plants and flowers. The book titled Herbal Elixirs Of Life, by Raymond Bernard, examines the beneficial properties of various plants. PLANETS AND POSSIBILITIES: A LOOK AT THE ASTROLOGY OF JULY

Water is going to dominate much of our experiences this month. Its astrological significance is that it is the element associated with our unconscious which contributes to creativity and intuition. It also contains emotions we’re unaware of which, when they surface, can be confusing or painful. During this time we are going to need to step back and observe ourselves and figure out how to navigate through stormy seas. If we pay attention to what’s being revealed we’ll be rewarded with inner and outer growth.

Much of this opportunity to evolve is due to the fact that there will be two Grand Water Trines (July 14 and 17) with the Sun, Mercury (retrograde until July 21), Mars (July 14) and Jupiter in Cancer. Cancer is the sign associated with security, home and nurturing but since it is Cardinal Water, there is a lot of power behind its folksy facade. It’s very meaningful that Jupiter, which represents expansion, is in Cancer and will enlarge everything within its influence.

This can be a mixed blessing. I say this because these planets in Cancer are not only happily Trining Saturn in Scorpio, initiating psychological metamorphosis and Neptune in Pisces, inspiring tremendous spiritual transformation, they are also creating stressful aspects to Uranus in Aries, the fiery rebel, the freedom fighter and Pluto in Capricorn, the power elite, the ‘Plutocrat’. (July 2, 7 and 29)

By now we know that T-Squares involving these planets have been known to trigger startling global events which force us to reconsider what we’ve taken for granted in our personal and public lives. Change means growth but we need to be gentle with ourselves and take breaks from the media, pamper ourselves and find stillness.

The Sabian Symbol for the July 8 New Moon offers us an insight into why we’re being asked to find a new direction in gaining self-knowledge.

SUMMER BUTTERFLIES

The butterfly emerges during the summer for an amazing lifetime adventure; the days of spring prepare the many species of soon to be butterflies in anticipation of the summer flight. The science of the butterflies gives light into the variations of color and patterns within the digital wings of the butterfly. As summertime begins; The life of the butterfly is sent into the breezy orbits of bliss. Each new season will add a newer corresponding effect to the color evolution of every species of butterfly.

Essentially a butterfly is a Flying Flower; they have taken on the molecular characteristics of the elements which support them. 

As the caterpillar becomes a butterfly it lives in the presence of the grasses and flowers. The waves of life & light within the plant kingdom infuse the caterpillar with the genetic seed and source code for the Re-Birth and directives in life. Upon emerging from the cocoon the reincarnated butterfly is an, altered evolution, a futuristic perfection, as only the mother Earth can magically weave into existence. The butterfly lives to collect genetic knowledge and transfer sacred geometric languages throughout their regulated inherent species rendered path.

Flowers and butterflies speak to one another, through sacred coded languages, and evolved group spirit knowledge. It is evident the many flowers within the plant kingdom share information with the butterflies, helping them to evolve into further perfected species. Likewise, the group spirit kingdoms of the butterflies share information with the flowers and alike species, in the plant kingdoms, to coexist and further one another’s group development.

Butterflies represent positive perfected evolution, even amid the modern background radiation effects and environmental extremes associated with human development. The Butterfly is an order of insects known as Lepidoptera, they along with Moths, are a part of a larger super order known as Endopterygota. Let us enjoy the summer butterflies; they are pure perfections, much like the orchid and the lotus, each Species striving for perfection on the beautiful earth. The reflecting qualities of the flowers within the butterflies are seen in the wing developments, color patterns, and antennae. It is as if the Flower desired to fly and the insect kingdom helped this effect proceed into the material world, through the evolutions of the butterfly.

The caterpillar stage is the reincarnating effect witnessed in all forms of life and nature. It is the Sun with the rays of life causing the springtime to spring into action, while the Summer Sun energizes the planet and the kingdoms of life, inspiring reincarnating effects and change.
