Let Go and Be You“Letting Go” is a powerful spiritual practice that will help you advance on the spiritual path. I have been drawing the “Let It Go” card from the Ascended Masters oracle cards by Doreen Virtue very often. Quan Yin is the ascended master that is associated with this card, and it suggests to stop struggling, pushing, or forcing things to happen. This goes against universal flow and will lead to frustration and blocks. You should let it go to Spirit and the universe will help you resolve the situation. This is a fundamental principle of Buddhism and Quan Yin is a Buddhist goddess. This can be very hard to do because of ego. I thought that this was just a message to me for me to practice, and it probably is, but then I got an email from Melanie Beckler on a video about “Letting Go” and how to use a technique that will help you do that. Because this message is so frequently occurring, I thought that it must be a topic that I should write about.

Melanie references a book written by David Hawkins called “Letting Go, the Pathway of Surrender”, and the mechanism described in the book, for letting go. She mentions that the mechanism is described in the Chapter 2 of the book. I looked at a free sample of the book and Chapter 2 was entirely there. The author explains that we all have emotional baggage that we have accumulated throughout our lives. Then an event comes along and triggers an emotion. There are a lot of thoughts that are spurred by that emotion. Repressing the emotion will not help as it just adds to the baggage. Expressing the emotion may not help either because it could lead to hard feelings. The recommendation is to acknowledge the emotion, be with it, and just observe it. The reason that therapy helps is because there is objective viewpoint from a third party.

Removing The DoubtWhen you become the observer, you can deal with the feeling and ask why I am feeling this way. Remember that you are not the feeling. It will help you resolve the situation, and you can release the feeling. All of the thoughts will go with it. Not only will your emotional health improve, but your physical health will as well because negative thoughts and emotions cause stress which leads to illness and disease. That reminded me of Larry Craig and his book, “The Unseen Therapist”, where you recall a negative feeling from the past, and then ask the unseen therapist to resolve it, which is to surrender it to Spirit.

Letting go will also help you manifest what you want. Surrendering the situation to Spirit is not giving up but trusting that the universe has your back. My metaphysical colleague friend says that you can detach but not be disinterested in the outcome. You can try to control the situation or just let it happen. You have to let go of the ego which is what it’s all about. Another way that you can practice letting go is through meditation. When you meditate, thoughts will drift in and rather than trying to suppress them, or getting involved in them, recognize them, and let them go. Go back to focusing on your breath and after a while you won’t think about anything. This will also help you heal or manifest. Besides helping you attain higher consciousness, letting go will also lead you to inner peace.
