The term psychometry was coined by Professor J.R. Buchanan in 1842 subsequent to a series of experiments with different sensitives. As a result of his brilliant pioneering work, Dr. Buchanan, who was also an active Spiritualist, concluded that subtle radiant forces are thrown off all objects and substances which some sensitives can feel, see, and interpret. Psychometry, which was well known to the ancients, can be defined as a psychic power which enables a person to divine the history of, or events connected with, an object they come in close contact with, including the human body. Some individuals combine mediumship with psychometry.
The ramifications concerning the modern rediscovery of psychometry are monumental. The fact that all physical forms, and even locations, carry pictures of their past history that can be viewed through a heightened sense of touch, has awesome potential for good in numerous fields of study. Psychometrists have discerned information by touching an object, holding it to their forehead, or being in close proximity to the item, to name some methods. Let’s study a few uses of genuine psychometry.
Historical psychometry- Ancient artifacts, figures, pottery, artwork, fossils, plants, shells, insects, building fragments, manuscripts, stones, jewelry, minerals, and metals, can all be psychometrized to witness their ages and the events they recorded in accurate detail. What a boon to paleontologists! Jewels are particularly good at absorbing and radiating impressions whether good or evil. Certain Gnostic gems used 2,000 years ago still emit positive light, like the modern Hope Diamond continues to radiate the negativity that surrounds its history.
Outer space psychometry- Chaldean astronomers psychometrized a meteoric stone to gain information about the nature of celestial bodies and space. Modern astronomers could greatly expand their knowledge through the skilled psychometrization of space fragments.
Crime-solving psychometry- Items linked to a crime can be psychometrized to show the events connected to the crime as well as the as well as the descriptions and temperaments of the criminals. The strong emotions surrounding criminal events give particularly strong impressions to the perceiving psychometrist. Numerous crimes have been solved using psychometry. Lost people and items can also be found using psychometry.
Letter and signature psychometry- Gaining information about an individual by psychometrizing sealed letters containing written notes is well known in Spiritualism. Blindfolded billet reading would be aspect of this gift. Typewritten letters of a routine nature are often difficult to psychometrize due to the lack of emotional power and physical contact with the writer they have. Autographs can reveal to some psychometrists the psychological temperament and character of the person who’s autograph it is.
Additional forms of psychometry include- underground or mining psychometry, locational psychometry, book and furnishing psychometry, human psychometry, and prophetic psychometry. Bear in mind that an object can contain overlapping influences to decipher when multiple people have handled the item. Certainly, some objects should be completely avoided due to either the negative magnetism and history they contain or the fact that they are literally cursed.
Awareness of psychometry is useful to know when purchasing anything from new or used books, jewelry, watches, furnishings and clothing to aged artifacts, medallions, artwork or money. Old and dirty bank notes are notorious for holding negative energies. New notes and coins are always preferred. Nickel, silver and gold are much less receptive to negativity than bronze or copper.
