Happy New Year!

by Bob Romero

I was writing an article on another topic and was struggling with it, and so I asked the universe to help me. Later that day I was talking to my sister on the phone, and she said that I had to watch this documentary called “The Secret”. She said that it was exactly what I have discussed with her many times that I learned in some of my metaphysical classes. I watched the movie, and it basically was about the law of attraction. And so, I thought, ah I unknowingly used the law of attraction to write about the “Law of Attraction”. There are a lot of special effects and quotes from famous people in the movie on how to use the law of attraction in order to get what you want. The secret is how to manifest our desires. So how do we get what we want?

Basically, the law of attraction says that like attracts like. You cannot attract anything worthwhile from a position of lack. In order to attract something positive, you must ask for it from a positive point of view. If you have an illness and all you think about is that illness, you will attract other illnesses. If you have a lot of debt and you focus on your financial woes, you will get more financial woes. Energy follows thought, and so negative thoughts will generate negative energy. People who complain about their situation will only compound it. If you say that nothing ever goes your way, the universe hears that and will follow your statement.

In order to manifest what you want, keep thinking about it and act like you’ve already received it. Then think about all of the blessings that have already been given to you and give thanks. This starts the positive flow of energy. The main thing is to start feeling good. In addition to the gratitude for what you have, there are other ways to feel good. Listening to your favorite music, watching inspirational movies, or being around children, or pets, or good friends, will put you into a positive frame of mind. You then ask for what you want. Don’t worry about how it will manifest, you leave that up to Spirit. If a negative thought or limitation pops up in your mind, just release it. I use one of Jose Silva’s sayings which is “No negative thought or negative suggestion will influence me on any mental level”. Jake Ducey is another author on self-improvement who has a very powerful prayer for manifestation which is “Thank you for hearing me, thank you for blessing me with everything I could ever desire! The money, the love, the businesses, the relationships, the health, and the happiness. I am so grateful I possess it all now! ” Then he says to smile, and the smile will send a sign to the universe that you’re ready to receive more.

During the holiday season, I observed the good will that a lot of people have to each other. People are very cheerful, and you hear a lot of holiday greetings. Maybe we can use the law of attraction to use that good will for the rest of the year and help improve our world.

Happy New Year! We begin 2023 with Mercury retrograde in Capricorn and Mars retrograde in Gemini. Even though Jupiter is in Aries we would be wise to not be in a hurry to make major decisions and take action on moving forward until Mars goes direct on Thursday, January 12th and Mercury goes direct on Wednesday, January 18th. The advice is to pause, reflect, breathe deeply and carefully contemplate your decisions and actions so you can experience the best results.

Plans and strategies may need to be changed several times before we can move forward without problems or resistance. We may notice a significant shift energetically when the Sun enters Aquarius on Friday, January 20th and the New Moon occurs in Aquarius on Saturday, January 21st.

Prior to these changes in direction for Mercury and Mars, Venus will enter Aquarius on Monday, January 2nd. This event will signal new ways of experiencing our relationships which will support healthy autonomy and loving detachment.

A Full Moon in Cancer on Friday, January 6th amplifies our awareness of home and family. Personal issues of emotional and financial security are likely to be intensified.

Clarity about the activity and action to take will occur on or soon after Mars goes direct in Gemini on Thursday, January 12th

A Last Quarter Phase Moon occurs on Saturday, January 14th in the sign of Libra. Negotiations for peaceful agreements which are likely to resolve conflicts in our relationships with others will be our primary focus.

Mercury going direct on Wednesday, January 18th in Capricorn will further support progress in decisions of a personal and professional nature.

The Sun entering Aquarius on Friday, January 20th and the New Moon in Aquarius on Saturday, January 21st signals the beginning of positive change in our experience of ourselves and our shared reality with others,

Uranus going direct in Taurus on Sunday, January 22nd signals positive change in our financial future.

Venus entering Pisces on Thursday, January 26th invites us to be more compassionate and helpful in our personal and social relationships with others. A First Quarter Phase Moon in Taurus on Saturday, January 28th inspires us to take action on economic and business projects that are likely to be financially profitable.

Tarot cards

Five major spiritual initiations accompany specific points along the “Path of Light” that represent marked expansions of consciousness resulting from the successful synthesis of a lesser duality by an individual. Certain numbered cards in the Major Arcana depict these five important stages in human soul evolution. These tarot cards start with 0 followed by 2, 8, and 12, and end with the number 21, with each of the five cards referencing a different initiation.

The esoteric fact that all things emanate from the boundless “First Cause” called Ain-Soph, is the basis for beginning the Major Arcana with 0, The Fool card and ending with 21, The World card. Zero symbolizes no-thing and corresponds to the nature of non-being and abstract space that characterizes Ain-Soph, named the Zervana Akarna by the Zoroastrians, and Parabrahm by the Hindu. The emanation process of manifestation would be ignored by starting the Major Arcana with 1, The Magician and ending it with 0, The Fool.

The 1st Initiation, or the Birth Initiation, takes place in a cave and is linked to the earth element and the physical plane. The first card of the Major Arcana  0, The Fool, is connected to the 1st Initiation and the birth of the inner Christ within a person. The 1st Initiation primarily functions through physical body of the aspiring disciple, now fortified with new thought and orientation. Visible in the upper corner of the card, the sun in its negative expression attunes to the Fool card.

Water is the element of the 2nd Initiation, called the Baptism Initiation, which occurs at a river on flat ground.  The 2nd Initiation is related to the astral plane and the strong water symbolism of card number 2, The High Priestess. This initiation accompanies greater purification and control of one’s emotionally-oriented astral body as the disciple interacts with the duality of the astral sphere. The High Priestess card is associated with Luna the moon in its positive mode.

Transfiguration is the keynote of the 3rd  Initiation, that traditionally happens on the summit of a hill or mountain. Correlated with the 3rd Initiation, the Strength card shows the higher mind portrayed by a woman dominating and restraining the lower animal nature. This initiation corresponds to the air element and the mental plane. At this point the illumined mind becomes an instrument of the Soul, and the Higher Self controls the human personality. Planet Venus in her positive expression is affiliated with the Strength card.

Mountains and hills are also customarily the location of the 4th Initiation, called the Crucifixion Initiation. The 4th Initiation, the fire element and the Causal/Intuitive plane are all signified in The Hanged Man card. This step marks the completed building of the antahkarana and the willing sacrifice of the personality to be absorbed into the Greater Self. Vibrational body awakening through the dually-charged planet Uranus parallels this initiation. At the 5th Initiation, a resurrection and ascension is achieved that is illustrated in The World tarot card which also portrays the ether element and the planet Neptune in positive mode. From the darkness of a cave or tomb, permanent illumination is attained, death conquered. and immortality gained. Now aligned with the Soul plane of life, the individual has a joyous awareness of their Soul’s purpose while wielding love, will and intelligence.

Capricorn the Sea Goat

December 21 to January 21

The Sun enters the zodiac sign of Capricorn on Wednesday,  December 21st.

This event officially begins the Winter Season and is known as the Winter Solstice. Capricorn is an earth sign and is ruled by the planet Saturn. Capricorns seek a goal, a purpose or an objective that will bring them an experience of emotional fulfillment. Success can be defined differently according to the individual’s soul growth and consciousness.

The underlying desire for every Capricorn is to achieve. Achievement equals fulfillment.  Sometimes the path to success is challenging and difficult. But the Capricorn soul gains strength through problem solving and overcoming challenges. The Capricorn motto is: “Perseverance Furthers.”

Currently the planet Pluto is transiting the sign of Capricorn. Pluto is the planet of transformation. During the time while Pluto is transiting Capricorn we will be experiencing a major transformation in our goals, career and our experience of all external structures such as governments, corporations and even the Earth itself. This is a transformation that is necessary in order for the Earth, the people and all life to evolve and grow into its full potential.
