“Beyond the crisis, something is waiting to birth you anew.” ~~Rev Cynthia James

Just as autumn represents the transitional passing of the seasons, metaphorically, we must give way to the passing transitions within ourselves. On October 23rd, the Sun moves out of the airy, social, relationship sign of  Libra, into the mystery sign of Scorpio, where instincts and hidden agendas prevail. As a fixed sign of the water triplicities, Scorpio relates to our emotional depths where we confront our deepest fears and obsessions. Its evolutionary journey is deep and powerful.

Scorpio is long associated with healing, alchemy, transformation and rebirth, the underworld, greater consciousness and self-empowerment. Its energies are charged with magnetism, resourcefulness, and determination.

These forces imply that something must die within each of us, in order for transformation to take place. Therefore, the question we must answer for ourselves is, ‘Where do our emotional attachments lie and in what areas of our lives must we surrender and let go?’ Whatever house Scorpio resides in your natal chart will give you a clue. We can rely on the resilience of Scorpio’s power, fixity of purpose and instinctual nature to get to the truth in all situations. On Nov 5th, the healing energies of the Scorpio New Moon combined with the Sun in Scorpio, provide increased opportunities to explore the shadow places within ourselves, as we release and heal past hurts and deep seated emotional wounds.

Three planets turn direct this month highlighting a shift in energy and momentum. Neptune in Aquarius ends its annual five-month retrograde journey on the November 7th, providing us with a greater sense of community, increased spiritual awareness and compassion for our fellow man. On the 8th, retrograde Venus makes a shift back into its ruling sign, Libra, where love and romance are apt to run smoother. On Nov. 18th, Venus makes a direct turn and reenters Scorpio on the 29th. Ironically, Jupiter, the planet that relates to generosity, luck and good fortune, also reemerges from its reverse cycle on November 18th.  This planetary duo, (Venus and Jupiter) serves to lighten the temperament.  Its shift in direction, gives way to optimism, improved finances and relationships.

Additional highlights for the month include the planetary transits of Mercury and Mars moving through the adventurous, sign of Sagittarius. We are reminded to ground ourselves before we speak and take action, as scattered, unfocused, overly optimistic energies tend to bypass solid thinking, reliable information, and well considered plans. A polarized theme for increased self-awareness plays out under the Taurus Full Moon on Sunday, Nov 21st. We are faced with the option to hold on and maintain the status quo versus let go and embrace change. We are encouraged to explore alternate perspectives and imagine a prosperous future.

THE RUNES – A Beginner’s Introduction

by Magni Thorsson

Thursdays, Nov 4 and 11, at 7pm.  BEGINNERS INTRODUCTION TO THE RUNES with Magni Thorsson. This 2-part class is presented by the Gothi of the Mjolnir Kindred.

The Ancient Vikings believed that the Runes were given to mankind by Odin, the Allfather, after hanging upside down with a spear in his side for 9 days from the Yggdrasil Tree (the Nordic Tree of Life) in self sacrifice.

The word rune itself comes from the old Norse word Runa meaning a secret or mystery, and it seems likely that the early runemasters and runemistresses were considered to have some magic or mystic power in their understanding of the runes.

The fact that the runes were each given meaningful names confirms that they had some magical or religious significance to their users long before they emerged as an alphabet for records and messages.
Join us and let the Runes empower your life! Call 303-758-9113 to register. $60 for both classes plus materials.

Sunday, November 14 at 2pm, a free event.

Internationally beloved Buddhist monk and mystic, Nicole Grace, will speak and sign copies of her latest award-winning book Bodhisattva: How To Be Free, Teachings To Guide You Home.

Open Bodhisattva and enter a sanctuary and a school, where every page welcomes you into a private peace and inspires the wisdom of quiet contemplation.
This book guides spiritual seekers from all faiths and traditions towards a deeper and more intimate understanding of the peace and preciousness of our lives.  Inspired by the beauty and wisdom of nature, as well as the New Mexico landscape, the verses and teachings in the book guide the reader to epiphanies, or spiritual “aha” moments.
As described in the Introduction, “a bodhisattva is a particular kind of enlightened being – one whose compassion runs so deep that he or she resists a final dissolution of the soul into Eternity until all sentient beings have themselves attaiined liberation from suffering.” Bodhisattvas “serve as a beacon of light, guiding seekers to higher consciousness and , hopefully, Ultimate Freedom.”
Anyone who has longed for personal awakening or the emotional release that comes from the sudden understanding of a deeply personal Truth will treasure the verses in Bodhisattva.
Bodhisattva is the winner of the USA Book News 2010 Book Award in two categories: Poetry/Inspirational and Spirituality/Inspirational.
“Incisive” – Kirkus; “jewels of wisdom…my life is laid bare in her words.” – Vision Magazine; “…breath of freshness.” Her Royal Highness of the Kingdom of Bhutan; “…takes the reader beyond words…” ForeWord Clarion; “…memorable words of wisdom…” – Book Pleasures.
NICOLE GRACE is a Buddhist monk, mystic and writer. She has been teaching the Bodhisattva Way and Buddhist mysticism for over a decade to thousands of seekers around the world. She clarifies her background in a November 2010 interview with Vision Magazine editor Sydney Murray: “I teach a mystical approach to spirituality, which is essentially, how to have a direct experience of enlightenment. I also draw from [Vedanta], Hinduism and Christian mysticism.  So I wouldn’t describe what I teach as just the Buddhist philosophy.“  Murray described Bodhisattva’s teachings as “jewels of wisdom” and wrote, “my life is laid bare in her words.”  Her Royal Highness of Bhutan, Ashi Kesang Wangmo Wangchuck, praises it as “a beautiful book,” in her warm Foreword.
In addition to Bodhisattva she is also the author of the award-winning book, Mastery At Work: 18 Keys For Achieving Success, Fulfillment And Joy In Any Profession (Mani Press 2005).

by Norma Mitchell

For thousands of years, man has sought signs from the Creator to make decisions in life. These signs have been read by man in various civilizations for direction in how to live life, where and how to find food and shelter, where to locate settlements and spiritual structures, plus various other conditions man has asked the Creator to lead him through.

Although we have records indicating this search, many of the so-called civilized areas of our world has steadily relied more on the thinking process rather than the feelings of our hearts and the sensitivity to our environment and the people around us. I fact, we often mistrust anything we can’t see or understand through our logic in life. What if we were able to readily access information from Spirit or whatever we call the All?

The good news is that we can … and often do (even when we don’t always recognize the information) … in spite of our disbelief. The loving God I experience wants us to be happy and successful … and leads us through life when we are willing to hear and accept Its communication. Some of us recognize the energetic responses Carl Jung coined “synchronicity” in our lives. These occurrences are not random nor is the Universe. Whether we simply focus on a desired goal, or we consciously ask for help from Spirit, we often notice events of such synchronicity.

Sometimes, these occurrences are through a materialization of something in answer to our questions, sometimes another person tells us something that we find helpful, and sometimes a book or song on the radio has that answer. Sometimes the “sign” represents a warning to us to be careful or to let us know changes are coming. The only requirements that we need to fulfill to consciously receive signs are to ask, pay attention to the possible answers, and trust that we will receive them.

The classes coming up on November 15 and 22 offer how to ask for and recognize signs, how they may appear, and developing trust. Through guided meditation and the exercises developed for you, you have the opportunity to create a more powerful communication with Spirit by eliminating fear, forgiving and releasing limitations, developing gratitude and liveing a joyful and fulfilling life.
