RainbowSymbols can be defined as various aspects of reality in picture form. Luminous symbols are those symbols that radiate light, truth and goodness from within. All symbols can be interpreted objectively for their outer meaning or subjectively to determine their inner significance. Luminous symbols can be used in diverse methods by the spiritually attuned person to bring light to the planet, groups of people, and individuals in focused, powerful ways. These techniques include- sending thought-forms of luminous symbols to others, symbol visualization in personal or group meditation, verbal and written decree, spiritual artwork, and positive ceremonial work to name a few.

All of the following groups of symbols should be seen radiating rays of light or spiritual fire. Some symbols fit more than one category. Luminous power symbols- saints, angels, divine beings, souls ascending, beings of goodness defeating evil monsters, flaming pillars of light, fiery dragons and serpents, enlightened souls in chariots of flame, illumined wands or staves, the decent of the dove above a person’s head, lion-headed soul emanating light, positive will symbols, Vulcan, a savior on a white horse, phoenix, auras of brilliant light, the sun.

Candle LightingLuminous love symbols- flaming heart, illumined heart chakra, white, gold, red, pink or blue unfolded flower, blue ocean of light, divine beings radiating perfect love, blue sun, planet Venus, pelican feeding its young from its breast, one’s soul radiating divine love, heart mandalas, winged heart, turtle doves, symbols of selfless sacrifice undertaken to help others. divine relationships.

Luminous mind symbols- halo around the head, lit lantern, golden crown chakra at top of head, illuminated upper room of a house, lighthouse, planet Mercury, flaming sword of Vishnu, yellow or golden jewel radiating light, yellow or gold crown placed on head, golden stairway, mentally enlightened souls throughout history, wisdom symbols, yellow/gold ray or fire pouring down on a person from above.

Miscellaneous luminous symbols- regular geometric forms radiating light, celestial bodies with an aura of light, two-headed eagle, spiritual lightning bringing illumination, gold capstone of a pyramid, brightly glowing third-eye chakra, fiery lotus flowers, lit candles and torches, light rays descending from heaven through holes in dark clouds, active flaming chakras throughout the body, fiery triangle with three opened eyes, sunrise, high noon, all kinds of fiery gemstones, symbols of soul awakening, light overpowering darkness.

The 22 cards of the Rider-Waite Major Arcana all contain illuminated symbols for the person who has the eyes to see them. Like other symbols they can be interpreted objectively and subjectively, physically or spiritually.

The Rosicrucian Order embraces a number of illumined symbols with important spiritual meaning including- the rose cross, double-headed eagle, seven roses as seven endocrine glands linked to the seven major chakras, aura symbols, the “silver cord” or sutratma, all-seeing eye, six-pointed star, heavenly man, dove, lion, owl, fox, tree of life, regular pentagram, various crosses, butterfly, lily, grapes, wheat, eggs, astrological symbols, chalice containing a flaming egg, lamp of learning.

Additional Rosicrucian symbols include the square, compass, right triangle, circle, point within a circle, maypole, universal flame of life, seven-fold nature of man, snail, seven planes of life, numerological symbols, Lords of Flame, greater and lesser angels, fiery whirlwind, sparks of life, seven spirits before the throne, solar system.
